Believe me this is a great device and can narrow your needs to have two devices (Tablet and Phone). Browsing, editing, gaming, recording etc...all are fantastic. You can easily carry this monster in your pockets without being noticed.
S Pen can improve but it will be an useful feature with proper Software updates. It is few notches above any of the top of the line mobile phones available in the Market.
Performance is really great, display is awesome only thing I am awaiting is ICS update.

Too big! Better to have gone with higher pixel density smaller screens, pentile matrix not as good as slcd in some areas. May find market within the US, as they tend to like larger devices, beyond that not sure.

James, 20 Feb 2012I have a Note and while it is good gadget for video and cam... moreHa ha ha overrated? So I wonder what do you expect your note to do make bed for you and clean toilet. It simply does all it is supposed to in a fashion that makes you proud of it. The best mobile device today.

It would be interesting to know how the (I717) Ardeno 220 GPU compares to (N7000) Mali-400MP GPU, and how much (or if) this would improve (I717) capabilities comparing to (N7000) version of the Note.

I'm using note since 3 months and its really not that huge even I've normal hands and I can never even think to port to any other device right now I quit using my laptop since I bought this monster highly recommended and you'll be so addicted to this device after exact 3 days ... Loving it

I was pleasantly surprised at how much of a non-issue the pocketability of the Note is. Like most reviewers have said, the screen is gorgeous, the scrolling, pinch-zoom smooth--and no lag. TouchWiz isn't as pretty as Sense on my HTC Flyer, but very useful and intuitive.
The bad? Handwriting recognition is terrible... embarrassingly so.Samsung doesn't have the right cats working on this code IMO. However, the Swype keyboard is so effortless, esp with the S pen, that I'm not sweating it. Maybe with ICS they'll have a useful update, or someone else will. The pen works beautifully, and that is why I wanted the Note. I think Samsung's Memo app needs better drawing tools, but its design is good and can only get better. I think Soonr is a really interesting app for the Note. It has some rudimentary drawing tools, but they work beautifully and I've already done much better sketches with it than with the S Memo app. Maple Paint is another one folks should check out. It is fast... must be written in machine code or something.
After my first weekend with the Samsung Note (and even a few calls), I am really pleased as is, and fully expect to be blown away as ICS and more mature apps become avail.
