LIke they said, it arrives a litle late to the market, 3 months ago it would have give him the an edge over the competition.
Too bad Ericsson is now gone, now that i was so used....And it was damn good brand too! Sony learned alot from them.

AnonD-21645, 02 Mar 2012Like most phones at MWC this year, it's 'almost there'...
... moreyou're so right....NOT!
Sammy's SGS2 has a VERY boring and ugly UI. The built is generally poor with cheap feel, thanks to its cheap plastic back. The audio quality is so-so and camera quality is not top quality. I immediately dispose mine after a month. its a benchmark monster alright, but the browsing speed and multitasking capability is almost the same with Motorola and HTC in real life.
I enjoy my HTC Sensation XE more than iPhone or SGS2. HTC One X is not perfect, but if you don't want to be bashed, you don't compare SGS2 to newer phones who are as good in terms of horsepower but waaaaaay waaay more fun, gorgeous and tougher like Xperia S, Droid Razr, HTC Sensation Xe, so how much more if you compare it to quad cores?

Great preview, considering this is not even Sony's flagship for 2012 i cant wait to see what else they come up with. Although the S is good i think i might end up getting the P just because of the aluminium unibody.

why do you keep sayin it lacks 2 cores? i dont want quad-core for now, and i wont buy this phone mainly because of battery (sgs2 is better), i want:
*4.5" super AMOLED 960x540 edge-to-edge display (virtual buttons)
*STOCK Android 4.0 (if its not i'll still put CM 9
*Dual-core 1.5 ghz snapdragon s4 (or any other 32nm chipset)
*1gb RAM, 16gb memory + microSD
*stereo speakers above and bellow the screen
*8 MP cam (great lens, better night mode than sgsII) + full hd 60 fps recording, dual LED
front cam 2 MP on the right of one stereo speaker and on the left i want notification LED (which can also be a LED flash for shooting myself) + HD 30fps rec
*A-GPS, GLONASS, fm radio, oleophobic, gorilla glass, wifi n, wifi direct, DLNA, hotspot, bluetooth (dont care about version), USB OTG, MHL, Accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass
*battery: 2000 mAh or more (phone can be thin between 12mm and 8mm)
*price: make it less than 480 euros and i'm buyin it! :))))))))))))

The battery life on the Xperia ARC S is already too short. Compared to the ARC S, this one has 2 faster processor, a larger screen with more resolution that draws up more power, and more RAM (higher ram draws more power) and they've only added an extra 250mAh of battery.
Can your eyes really tell the difference between 480p and 720p on a tiny 4.3" screen? It's totally unnecessary but that's what drains battery life. Don't you rather have a 480p screen if you could surf the net and play videos for twice as long? I bet the S won't even last 3 hours surfing the net at 720p.

These specs are nice for a non Japanese mobile. This mobile in Japan would be considered mid-range.

Like most phones at MWC this year, it's 'almost there'...
Let's take a look at the contenders shall we?
HTC One X - quad core, but no radio and no expandable memory...
Sony Xperia S - fantastic screen and connectivity, but old dual core, no expandable memory...
Nokia 808 - fantastic camera, but etch-a-sketch screen resolution and Symbian operating system...
LG - well, it's made by LG, so no point in listing anything...
What you clearly see this year is that yet again, there's no phone that gives you 'everything'...
And boringly, this is why Sammy's GS2 was so popular last year, despite its boring design (I've got one, I know) it gave you EVERYTHING, fast dual core, amazing screen, expandable memory AND radio, not to mention great photos...
All Sammy has to do this year is slap quad core into a GS3, whack ICS on it straight of the box, give it a 720p screen and keep everything else as it is, and unfortunately it blows away competition again... because it'll be sold at the same price as all of the above, but will contain EVERY feature that you want / need...
I don't particularly want to buy a GS3, because I'm bored with them, and wanted something different this year... but what choice do I realistically have?

Notice how the review only mentions just the length of talk time at just 7 hours? No mention of how long internet surfing or video play back?

The Design is beautiful but why didn't sony combine the features of the three new xperias ( U,P and S )
I mean the aluminum unibody and white magic thing from the p and colors and speaker from the u and the camera n a playstation certification it would be a true flagship,
Any thing less than perfect shouldn't put you hard earned money into, now take a look at the HTC One X its almost perfect, I'm considering buying one though I'm a sony lover and waitin for sony to give us something special and perfect.

I expected far more from their cameras. The sharpness is far too high, and the compression is huge again. Makes me wonder that Apple could squeeze much more out of an older Sony camera module, and Sony themselves can't make it work at least as well in their own phone.

bummy, 02 Mar 2012So many Nokia fans out there... Not trying to be a troll... morewell.. if you use the latest Belle you will see how much advanced it is. I find it much user friendly then Android. I have Nokia N8, with 680MHz it rocks. On 1.3Ghz it will blow any Android, if we speak for every day use, not special apps ;) ery phone has it's user. For my camera was No1 priority and easy of use in evry day life (calling, in car use...)
