And I have also used both side by side and asked opinions. Not everyone thinks the HOX looks better. Some do and so dont. Also the S3 in no way shape or form, looks or feels cheap. The S3 was not laggy compared to the HOX for me so I dont know. And the camera between the two is much higher detail on S3 but a little brighter on HOX

M using both S3 and OneX
S3 has better features like S-voice, S-beam and many motion features like direct call,etc while OneX design looks better and feels better quality even though both use same polycarbonate plastic S3 feels cheap.
1.5ghz tegra3 of OneX is a tiny bit faster than 1.4 exynos of S3. The speed difference is noticeable only if u inspect very closely. Both r quad core
Display of S3 has better vivid colours, nice contrast, neat blacks and excellent sunlight legibility. While OneX has brighter display which is crisper and smooth due to higher ppi and 0.1 inch smaller screen. Sunlight legibility is not that good on OneX.
Touch is more sensitive and smoother on One X than S3
S3 is slimmer and curvy which is more comfo to hold while OneX fatter and less curvy body is a bit less comfortable.
Charging socket of S3 is on bottom which is very comfo to use while charging as the wire is not obstructing ur hand n no additional weight on top. OneX is a bit uncomfortable to use while charging as its charging is from side.
Battery of OneX will easily last a day but it runs out of juice pretty fast while watching video, gaming or browsing and it has smaller unremovable battery while the S3 has 2100mah removable battery. S3 backup when watching video, gaming and browsing last quite long. It's amoled screen consumes far less battery than OneX Lcd.
Camera on both device r good S3 video come out a bit better due to higher 30fps than 24 on OneX.
Sound on external speakers of OneX are louder and better clarity than S3 but when u connect to ur headphones or ur car and home audio S3 is far better. OneX has beats audio and two speakers to one on S3.
UI is equally good. I like the phone keypad, settings menu app drawer and style of video player of S3 more than OneX. S3 taskbar has more settings which are very useful and the lockscreen looks better of S3. While OneX menu, homescreen look better. Widgets of OneX are far better than S3. S3 widgets do dissappoint me.
Also there is kind of a 3d effect on widgets of OneX when u swipe from one homescreen to other.
Both phones are excellent, depends on ur choice.

It fell from my hands from a height of abt 2-3 feet and the back got cracks like glass. Cheap build, bad quality. I bought S3 just coz of s-voice, s-beam, and motion like direct call, etc and better battery back up. People even can't recognize if it's S3. When I tell them it costs 37k they get shock. the difference between s3 and one x in the theme if you can use mobile powerful but like windows 98 okay go with it but if you want mobile with theme like windows 7 you must go with hTC ONE X

biggest drawback of one x: its browser!! One x's browser is not smooth at all, pinch zooming works slower and hangs. And on the other hand, s3's browser is the world's most amazing mobile browser which can compete pc browsers.

Ultimately we want a great looking UI that stands out among others and stock ICS, an elegant design with a quality build that looks costly. Well S3 satisfies neither. It's build is like of a cheap cell, design isn't good either and the UI sucks. Some mid range 2.3 cells have better UI.
Samsung should have provided way better build quality and much work is needed on the UI for the price they are charging
OneX has outclassed Samsung

Everyone has their own opinion and is entitled to like which ever, but fact clearly shows S3 has superior hardware. Not to mention its poly carbonate the same as the Hox and is not cheap just because it's plastic.

personally the HTC on X is the winner. as this is better hardware, with tegra 3 optimsed games. and overall build quality. not knocking the S3, but the build is like cheap plasticky phone. everyone wants one just because david beckham was on the advert. yes the phone is good and clever. but hardware the one x is the better device.

Just went yesterday to a phone retailer shop, and the guy let me use an S3, the phone doesn't have a high end feel, and upon close inspection the metal(or plastic) on the sides had cracks?
