Nokia 808 PureView blind test: The sum of all pixels

14 June 2012
The Nokia 808 PureView has finally landed in swirling storms of hype. And of course, it wasn't given a chance to catch a breath. We didn't meet it empty-handed either. We had a finger on the shutter of some mean cameraphones and an EVIL digicam...

                        it is hard to say which one is better between E and F,
                        they are both gorgeous and far ahead of the other competitors,i vote for E if i have to

                              Image E is definitely the Pureview 808.
                              Image F might be Olympus E-PL2.
                              I guess N8 would be image B this time, N8 is notable in producing yellowish image.
                              Image A is for Iphone4s(colors looks more natural).
                              S3 for image D(notice the over-saturation of colors and the digitally-rendered sharpness).
                              And Image C, might be HTC oneX(as it's noted for producing worst sharpness and color production).

                              From best to worst:
                              E = 808
                              F = Olympus E-PL2
                              B = N8
                              A = Iphone4s
                              D = S3
                              C = OneX

                              CnetAsia also performed the same test with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5. Though LX5 handles white balance more accurately, 808 pureview still outperforms the LX5 from 5mp,8mp to 38mp.

                                E and F generally best, on balance across all images F just wins for me.

                                  F -> Olympus E-PL2 (best quality)
                                  E -> Pureview 808 (second best)

                                        I'd go for E as the best with more details and natural looking colors.
                                        D & F come in close 2nd with good dynamic range.. They're both detailed albeit a little on the warm side in their image rendition..
