Nokia 808 PureView blind test: The sum of all pixels

14 June 2012
The Nokia 808 PureView has finally landed in swirling storms of hype. And of course, it wasn't given a chance to catch a breath. We didn't meet it empty-handed either. We had a finger on the shutter of some mean cameraphones and an EVIL digicam...

      My top 3 would be: F, E, A.

      The rest was just rubbish.

DSLR/EVIL/ILC lenses typically generates chromatic abberations at edges which are red colored. so

F is definitely the Olympus camera
E would be the pureView and
        N8 was "A"
        HTC is C a
        B is iPhone 4s
        D is the Samsung SIII

B and D were almost similar, this is because SIII and 4s uses Sony sensor and has the same color filter and color rendering algorithm. while Olympus also had the typical warm look just like Canon, Sony and Nikon DSLRs.

              Here are my votes
              from best picture to worst
              E, F, B, D, A, C

E and F are most sure to be the Pureview and the DSLR..
              B could be the N8
              D - Galaxy SIII
              A - iPhone 4S
              C - HTC One X
              these are just my guesses..
we'll see in a few days..

I think E is the best. F is a close second, but lacks small details such as metal fence in the last 100% crop. The E photo also has a higher dynamic range than the others, it seems.

I'll vote for E (Pure view)

Im pretty sure that A is N8 because of the natural color and has no over saturation. but compared with E (N808) it looks like blurry

Photos taken by "F" had the cleanest and sharpest shot of them all, Although I can't say anything about the neutrality of the colors since I wasn't seeing the subject personally. I bet this is the PureView.

and BTW why use Olympus for Four-Thirds option? there were better EVIL cameras out there that beats this hands down, like Panasonic and Fujifilm, even Nikon J1/V1 cameras would be a closer competition. besides it generates misinformation since EVIL cameras have tendencies to produce good enough pictures at low ISO at auto mode but would shine at higher ISO and custom settings.
