all is super with this mobile, but one fact is obssessive for me: scratches appers after only a few days on the camera unit glossy chrome surface, on the left side of the camera, in the point of contact with the surface you put it on. the only solution is the nokia plastic case wich protects all th back including camera unit, but the mobile becomes incedible bulky, like a mobile from 1997

i want to see instagram on symbian! :) this phone is what i need! i dont really want thousands of apps but its quality are questionable!
or if nokia will make a WP pureview and instagram will write its app on WP then i will be really happy!
but im scared to put my money on WP what if WP8 devices wont support the next version of WP like what they did to the WP7/7.5! well atleast im gonna be happy to see pureview tech!

It is just funny how the Droid/Apple fanboys are bashing Nokia.....like Nokia is dead and Symbian is a dead OS. I would say for a dead os this Symbian device killed all other camera phones! And people just STOP making points like the cpu is old we now have quadcore phones.....if a phone/os can run smooth on a 1,3ghz single core os than why bash it? The Pureview runs smooth with a 1,3GHZ single core cpu this phone can make great pictures and just compare the 1080p video recording with the 1080p video of the SGS 3 or ipnone 4s.......the Pureview kills those phones.
And please don't say that Symbian os is behind Android or ios.... is just not behind, it can do more than these 2 os's
People now will say i am a Nokia fanboy....i use ios/meego/Androis ics and Symbian.
I would Android is not al that and i don't think that is the best os.
I like the smoothnes of ios but the lack of features and capability's i don't like it that much.
Symbian is a great os, people who bash it did not used Symbian the past 2 years. Al they talk is about Symbian 60......open your yes Symbian Belle is a great os.
And for Meego......it is a awsome os... it still love it!

I finally made the move from my N8 to sony xperia S 2 months ago. i collected a wealth of family and friends moments on my N8 in good clarity. They say the best point and shoot is the one thats always with you , in my case my N8 ;-).
With the last update to Belle , the N8 really became a breeze to use with the drop down notification menu. Daily tasks became easy to do.
And holding a solid aluminium phone felt right , still feels right.
The Xperia S is my daily driver for now. photos on this are not as good as N8 , but still quite good.
Maybe pureview and windows phone 8 , will make perfect sense in a year or two.

hello all,
i had around 38 cellphones since the motorola triband days in 1999. maybe some of you had more, some less. but did you remember the days when all phones was the same inside? it can only make calls and send sms. So you go to a store without any model in mind and you buy what catches your eye. It all depended on the design and then you hold it in your hand and then your sold. I always liked underdog brands as well. Long ago Nokia was king so i often go to other brands like sony ericcsson or motorola. I loved the W800 before and who can forget the T68i, which was way ahead of it's time. anyway buying a phone was not that complicated. But then things started changing when features such as camera and processors came. Then the numbers game started. 2 mp is better than VGA camera, now 8mp is better than 5mp, and same with processors. People now read first the specs before buying, comparing numbers of which is better. There are plenty cellphones out there which looked impressive on paper but failed in reality. My point is, its not really who has more and who is better, but have a phone that you can fall in love with, despite all its shortcomings. I bought 3 phones with only weeks apart. an iphone 4S, an N9 and lastly the 808. realizing i cannot really use all 3, i asked any of my friends if they can buy from me the iphone, but it was too expensive for them so i had to let go of the N9 because thats the only one he can afford from me. I actually really liked the N9, i had no expectations from it and it just continued to surprise me. As for the iphone 4S, i KNOW it has to be good, and it has to impress me to stay with me. But not my 808, despite the symbian OS and lower resolution, i loved the phone because of course of the camera powers it has, but also it had personality. and since Nokia is not king anymore, it sort of became an underdog phone. basically the same as my beloved N9. That is why i am still wondering why all the brand/OS/phone bashing? are people not happy with theirs that they had to bad mouth others? threathened perhaps? all i can say is, in the end, go with the phone you love, it's your hard earned money anyway, not theirs. If we wanted their opinion, we will ask them. as far as i can remember, i didnt ask any. Cheers and enjoy your phone, let others blah themselves to death and convince thier phone is better by phone bashing others. im enjoying my 808 now and also the iphone 4S is still impressing me also so until then, i will keep using both.
sorry for the long post.

[deleted post]man..stop using foul language..mind your manners please...im really starting to doubt your credibility in this thread...I advise you to work on your reading comprehension...don't be hasty to say something or you end up being the loser...first, check out her comments. what she really said is that Iphone was the fastest, faster than X7..also, she added, Iphone has good camera than HTC.
you compared numbers in some instances: screen resolution, number of apps, the phone dimensions...as you can see both phones are usable regardless of these specs....but SGS3 is not comparable to what N808PV can offer: the pureview technology..& that's the main topic here. what SGS3 can offer that is something new?..don't tell us again, the screen, the processor, the thinness,etc...HTC, Sony & Motorola followed that path..i don't have to list the specs..you know what i mean...we wanted something new & unique...fortunately, nokia doesn't copy. that is why we now witness a real innovation which is pureview tech.

X7 has AMOLED so why it couldn't look bet... moreSorry accidentally submit :P
However iPhone 4 has 800 mhz or 1 ghz processor (it's not sure how fast) so why couldn't 680 be faster with Symbian that's known as lightweight?
And beauty of screen is a taste issue, when you compare low res AMOLED and high res LCD.
