I'm a huge Samsung Fan. I can't wait to put my hands on the Galaxy Note 2. It's simply amazing and irresistible for a gadget freak like me. I am using Sgs2. But there's only one thing which is preventing me from buying this beast. Its none other than the Samsung's next flagship device Samsung Galaxy S4 which will probably launch in april,2013.
It's pretty obvious that the S4 will have a 12mp camera,and the next time sony & lg won't stop it from having so. Expecting a Hd camera though.
2ghz quad processor or maybe the new Exynos 5 Dual core(this will make it fast).
Expect the next Android version 5.0 k.l.pie(whatever the name maybe).
It may sport the rgb matrix like the one in Note 2 with a higher ppi for instance 300,Samsung should do away with pentiles.
I read an article which stated that s4 will focus on media development. Heard that it may sport dual speakers,sound quality will increase and be better than galaxy s3. After all you'l have to accept that it's the Samsung's S-series which are the flaghsips and not the Note series. But they both attract different consumers all together.
Coming back,the battery shulould be atleast 2500Mah.
Resolution should be higher.
2gb Ram is pretty good.
The most ipmortant and distinguishing feature maybe the size.
I probably believe that size should be below 5"inches. Probably 4.9" inch is good and will distinguish itself from Phablets and thus will come under the Smartphone category. But I just pray that Samsung introduces the stylus pen(S-pen) in the Galaxy s lineups along with features like Airview and Pop Up play etc in their S4. Designers should come up with a new design. The color,i prefer white and black. Titanium Grey looks a little dull to me.
The back plastic cover should be made a little more attractive. But I really want the S-pen in S4. Battery life should be long lasting and also removable. I don't like the concept of nano sim cards though. Nfc is a must along with 4g.
I gues My wish list and expectations will be dealt with in the new S4. But it requires lot of patience and will power to wait for the s4,because note 2 os simply a beast. I wont go for lg optimus g and lumia 920.
Apple iphone 5 sucks,nothing special about it. Just an extended version of 4s. And apple is heading for legal problems this time because Samsung is ready to sue them as a revenge because Samsung holds many patents for 4gLTE.
What do you guys suugest ? Do I buy this or wait,because I want my next gadget to last for 2 to 3 years and its very obvious that s4 will be released in the second quarter of 2013.

i hope samsung patents this "phablet" size n specs for it will be the next big thing. there's so much you can do on larger smartphone screen and portable enough compare to a tablet. Smartphones are smarter in phablet form.

They can help improve overall score, but at the end of day, for average user they're just numbers (ie. benchmarks). I'm not saying Note 2 is bad, I think it's awesome device, but not for everyone out there.

mobile phone is all about CPU, SCREEN, FEATURES, BATTERY! and when a new device can show something more of those, that means A LOT!!! not a "just"!

Can you see that on any of the pictures? :

Asking as, my main upgrade objectives (from Galaxy S) are:
- better performance - will have
- longer batter life - could have - if not eaten by CPU and screen
- status LED - which I miss so much...

mikael, 11 Sep 2012galaxy s was 5 mp not 8 and galaxy s2 indeed had the same... moreactually , the maali in the s2 and note 1 is dual core and this is a quad core maali 400 in the note 2 and gs3 .

and galaxy s2 indeed had the same mali 400 but it was single gpu in the s3 and note 2 its dual gpu mali 400
plz google before u post and dont be a blind fanboy and indeed nokia is way back in this fieled as 4 wireless charging its not their innovation and its not an important feature but its cool and non gloves screen also not an important feature rather a luxury..speaking of wireless charging yeah u need to charge nokia lumia 920 always because its 1650 battery but in note 2 its 3100 although it has huge screen it still last longer so the only thing i liked in the new nokia was the screen ppi as i stated before i am not intrested in phone cams

For all people that complains about "CAMERA" mega pixels really does not matter what the prior generation had.. S2 vs S3. They are not the same camera lenses!!.. S2 does not have burshot nor zero lag shutter.. People who complain about camera please check what is the difference.. Mega pixel does not mean anything.. if you really go over 5mp.. It is all about lenses... MP will matter at certain times but.. i don think most people will notice with their own eyes the difference unless you are printing a picture that is like a size of your car.

Qualcomm's half node 28 nm A15 based Krait design does perform better in some tests, but in many others it just falls short to the Exynos 4412 @ 1.4GHz. So, yet again, I'll say the only edge the 920 keeps over the Note is the camera.
