"Thanks to its Jelly Bean platform the S III mini is every bit as smooth as its WP competitor"
And that is with a weaker cpu and gpu. Hope the wp fans read it this time. So many is using smoothness as their main argument to attack Android. There's really no point in changing to wp if smoothness is all you want.
ANY WAY. WP8 requires 1gb ram to use all features. Some apps will not work on 8S. Get a 1gb phone if you really want wp8, and if you really want 512mb then get an android phone =)

You know, this could be my next phone. I need a normal size phone. I don't need ridiculously oversized thing like 920 ir SGS3. The only downside owning HTC is rubbish ancient LCD screen.

How would this compare with Nokia 620? Most likely Nokia will be cheaper, specs are almost the same...

I have a question for GSMArena. Why has lock-screen shortcuts grown to be such a big deal?? So big, in fact, that it makes an appearance in the main drawbacks of a device?
The phones which emphasize on more and more shortcuts on the lock-screen itself are as good as doing the same purpose as the home screen (which in itself used to fulfill the purpose of quickly accessing application grid apps :P)

No phone is perfect, much less in thisprice range, but we can't see anything we can't live with on the list of cons. this statement is the best part of the review

A month ago I was in struggle to choose between this HTC 8S and HTC Desire X, both are close in price.
In the end I choose Desire X (android). For WP8 I choose to wait Lumia 620 instead, seems more worthy than 8S.

Wew. . Good quality build on Note2?? That phone has no grip at all. . I would rather hold this thick phone with a matte finish than that thin, plasticy and slippery Note2. :)

Im an Android user but I think windows mobile os is great. I would say that windows is smoother than android which also runs well on just about any specs.

AnonD-77443, 18 Dec 2012That's a long list of disadvantages there.....
Also, wh... moreI don't understand this obsession with the thickness of phones and other gadgets, many smartphones are thin enough, some of them are hard to hold, 1mm to 3mm does not matter really, it is still a thin phone, you don't judge it by looking at specs sheet, hold it in your hand first.
I hate it when companies brag about how thin their phones are, like all we care about is thickness of the phone, i'm sure many if not most people can't care less about thickness.

That's a long list of disadvantages there.....
Also, why do all WP devices have such wide bezels and have to be above 10mm thick?
(don't say build quality, I have a note 2, it has thin bezels is a tick over 9mm and has awesome build quality)

HOOORRAAAAYYY !!! READ THIS, FINALLY NOW I CAN SELL MY IPHONE 4 & 4S. GSMARENA SAID:"The most impressive part of the HTC Windows Phone 8S audio output is its loudness. The smartphone is the loudest we have ever seen (except for the good old Nokia N91) both with and without headphones attached to it. If volume levels are what you are after this is the handset for you." !!!! THANKS THANKS THANKS A LOT BEATS AUDIO !!!
