AnonD-89109, 03 Jan 2013And on that day exactly I will start hating Apple. When you... moreNo, you lock your house with a lock and key. What is being suggested is that the lock design be opened up to review and penetration testing. But why should you care? The security of the house is maintained by you holding onto the key and the design of the lock.

The design of the lock will benefit from the open source community.

Think... Why are most web servers running on Linux or *BSD?? Because they are very secure. In fact even apple takes from open source. OSX NASA lot of BSD in it. WebKit used by safari and android browser are open source. Xcode has lots of GCC in it. A lot of the things you use are open source it have been built by open source.

Being said that, I also do believe that Apple need to shove off their counter intuitive attitude for iOS, but never go open source like Fandroid.
iOS is THE most stable, fluent and fluid OS available atm, yes, it has it's limitations, but I like limitations way better than crap load of bugs, lags and horrible quality apps on my Note II.

I was an Android user for years and my last android phone was S3 before I switched to Iphone5..(biggest mistake).I feel Iphone is an expensive feature phone and nothing else....yes the screen size and built quality is amazing but thats the end...in India the 16gigs Iphone is for 45k and S3 32Gigs comes for 35K and with endless possibilities...cant wait to get back home to an Android.

Seriously, apple needs to improve their device. It needs a real user accessible file system. On iOS, there are more workarounds than methods. And its so limited.

The iPhone isn't a computer as the first page claimed. It's an appliance.
