I fail to see the "mind-boggling" difference between this "plus" version and a standard JB-equipped S2! In other words the only thing that makes a difference is the JB.

This should have been appropriately named the Galaxy S III mini, not the 4" screen one that has been recently sold. Just saying.. I wish this would lower the price of unsold or previously owned GS2's, love to get them. But sadly, not this one. Little has changed IMO.

The original S2 was so far ahead of the competition it is still a pleasure to use.
As long as the S2 Plus can still use the 2000mA Samsung extended battery can't really see any downside.
You never know it may even have LTE crammed in.
Obviously not a "top end" smart phone anymore, but who really needs (or uses) quad cores ?

Maybe Samsung released this as a replacement for the S2 that won't annoy Apple. You know, Samsung obviously want to avoid further court cases. You'll probably find many hidden changes.

I thought it would have S3 design, and then it still looks like a iphone copy. If i dont like iphone then for sure i dont like this copy also, its just as tasteless a copy as the original S2.

Sony will now focus on their midrange. If this s2 will not sell, then sony will take the midrange market. Sony is as always be king on midrange, not to mention the clear intent to take over the highend with the Xperia z.

This would be great option at ~350$ for country's where off contract phones are popular

Broadcom VideoCore IV? Are you kidding me? This is similar to what Samsung did with the Galaxy s Plus which came with an inferior Adreno 205 instead of the SGX540 which came with the original Galaxy S. People, Please stay away from this phone.
