Anonymous, 16 Feb 2013You are right, the apps is a serious limitation, its amazin... moreAre you crazy or what? No way on earth can a VM running android be lighter than something which is running native code. The video reviews show the 620 to be very fast for the price it comes in even with the browser running.
The app issue scarcity is a valid point though. Also there were manufacturers who released XP boxes with 128MB RAM.

video reviews show that the phone is pretty lag-free for that price even with the browser. The app store scarcity is wellknown though. And yes XP devices did ship with 128mb ram.

khan, 15 Feb 2013i am using this phone.i ve shifted from android ics.
buil... moreYou are right, the apps is a serious limitation, its amazing how simple and stripped all the WP apps are, always leaving too much to be desired, its like old Symbian Apps. Very weak apps indeed, they seem to be busy making many apps instead of quality apps.
Your phone slowing down from time to time is normal for WP8 devices with 512MB RAM, WP8 is very resource hungry compared to Android which can run well on single core and 512MB (and below). Its mainly when using the webbrowser you have slowdowns, right? WP8 requires 1GB RAM (to use all features), thats what Microsoft has said the whole time, 512 is absolute minimum, we have to ask why phone manufacturers insist on making 512MB WP8 devices. WinXP could run on 128MB but no manufacturer made PCs with 128MB for XP, microsfts minimums have always been theoretical minimums that should never be used.

"Despite the more than capable Ativ S, Samsung's heart isn't as bent on Windows Phone as it is on Android and is happy to leave the largest part of that to Nokia."
as if its samsung's will that nokia has largest part of the pie of wp.
sorry this is out of context, its nokia's effort that led to it to capture the lion's share of wp.
just look at 620 vs galaxy s3 mini

kavint, 15 Feb 2013'''At this point it should be clear that the future of Noki... moreOh boy, kavint - you really show exceptional ignorance regarding the needs of the various OSs.
"sorry to say Nokia dreams are shattered with xperia z,htc one, galaxy s4..."
yeah...which is why the 808 PureView and Lumia 920 have won loads of awards between them for being outstanding devices.
"lumia is far behind 4.5" vs 5" screen.. 720p vs 1080p...."
True, but not the most valid of arguements. Firstly, WP8 only goes up to 728p (for now), and secondly bigger screen doesn't mean better - it just means a different target audience. Screen quality is important, and in that respect the Lumia 920 so far beats all the others hands down.
"dual core vs quad core... 1gb ram vs 2 gb..."
Again, you miss completely the point - WP is a much more resource-friendly OS than Android, so it doesn't need beefier and beefier processors to run smoothly whereas Android very much does.
"i think Microsoft made mistake to join a sinking company which is too far behind in tech..."
And which company is that? Certainly not Nokia if you look at the products it makes - from high end to low end. Now Nokia was well behind in software (symbian is a very capable and powerful OS but didn't get the updates it needed from Nokia so fell behind Android and iOS) but it's hardware has always been up there to rival if not beat everyone else. Add to that the software differentiation they're making in the WP ecosystem and your comments just don't stick.
"i think they too lately realized and launched own surface...iam nokia user past 11 years... mow feel time has come to part with it..
having 41mp cam tech.. they could not use in lumia 920.. what a useless company..."
Really? You claim to be a Nokia user and yet you have zero awareness of their product plans...info which is publically available. I won't even bother responding properly as you've proven yourself incapable of doing any basic research before you start your bashing...just have a look for Nokia PureView EOS and stop your whining.

i am using this phone.i ve shifted from android ics.
build quality, interface and usage is very good.
its way too classy than android. bt wp8 doesn,t allow that much customisation.
major issues, apps are very few and stupid as compared to android. no sms preview turning off option, battery is hardly one day with wifi, location and internet on.
it gives 20hrs with all internet off and normal call and sms.
in pakistan it doesn't supports mms which is very embarassing.phone gets slow sometimes.
task manager doesn't allow to kill apps bt it does good work by itself.
i think nokia and windows should work on apps.

kavint, 15 Feb 2013'''At this point it should be clear that the future of Noki... more''At this point it should be clear that the future of Nokia rides on the success of the Windows Phone 8 platform'''
sorry to say Nokia dreams are shattered with xperia z,htc one, galaxy s4...

sorry to say Nokia dreams are shattered with xperia z,htc one, galaxy s4... - You don't even know what future holds and are talking about dreams of Nokia?
dual core vs quad core... 1gb ram vs 2 gb... - WP runs smoother on dual cores and a gig, no need for a wastage of resources, public money and time just to make the lag go away.
i think Microsoft made mistake to join a sinking company which is too far behind in tech... - If tech means increasing number of cores and gigs in ram, then I say even cheap chinese mobiles are equal to samsung, sony and htc, they too have all these at that too at a lesser price.
i think they too lately realized and launched own surface - Microsoft has been launching tablets even before Apple.
having 41mp cam tech.. they could not use in lumia 920.. what a useless company... - You need to remain updated. MWC is around the corner
i think they too lately realized and launched own surface...iam nokia user past 11 years... mow feel time has come to part with it.. - You are not a user, you are just a hater. Good, go away less number of annoying people.
