The phone that previous Iphone users switched to and will never return to is the big Samsung Note 1 or 2. After experiencing a huge screen while surfing, the Iphone 5 is really miniscule.
Now that the S4 has moved up to 4.99 inch, Iphone users will start to look like dinosaurs.

The SGS4 has:
a lot better, bigger, sharper screen (do you eyes see better than can be seen)
is smaller thinner and lighter than the SGS3 (10g difference and u r so happy)
reportedly has better build quality,(plastic)
has twice the 3G download speed (DC-HSDPA),(its a norm)
Has double the RAM and processor power,(whats the use if a phone with less power can do a better job)
will have a lot better battery life,(use a phone that have less power and does better job)
looks a lot better than pebble blue with the carbon look (oh my god)
has a lot of software features and upgrades (copied from others as usual)
has a lot better camera..(one megapixel better n u r so wow)

3 reasonable reasons for Samsung S4 design:
1. Same design family with previous Galaxy S3 helps push S3 sales especially for those who wouldn't spend too much for S4. People won't really look at S3 anymore if the S4 design is so much different.
2. Xperia Z has taken the boxy square shape, HTC has taken the rounded square shape. What's left are octagonal shape and rounded shape which they chose the latter. Had it come square people will complain it copies Xperia. Had it come rounded square people will complain it copies HTC or iPhone and so on. So the decision is wisely justified.
3. The material they are using does not call for a complete out of this world design. Imagine they come up with a fantastically shaped design only to be bashed because of it's made out of plastic.
So, there you go. It's a very reasonable design despite all the complains. As for the choice of material, we will discuss later.

What about the waterproof, dust proof and wireless charging tech. When sony has already launched it, shouldn't Samsung have them in its flagship too? Disappointed. I'm not upgrading my sgs3.

well in my humble opinion I was expecting something new. but yes I agree with gsmarena that you will only know once you get the hold of it. till that time I think we should not comment anything bad or criticize.

Wow. This is packed with so many high end features that I doubt is useful in daily use. Whew, guess I'll hold on to my S3 much longer. Having said that, thanks for saving me some dough down the road Galaxy S4.
To sum up collective impression of the S4, though I don't want to sound like a goat.... Meh!

As a samsung fan, currently using an s2, I am slightly disappointed with this to be honest. Don't get me wrong, the hardware is incredible and I'm glad they've upped the battery, but the design is so lazy. I don't mind the plastic, my s2 has served me well for 2 years without a smashed screen or a scratch anywhere, but they needed to do something different. I find it quite feminine too...
I'll no doubt still buy one as I'm not totally convinced by the HTC one, but I wish it looked better.

The launch sucked a big one. Worst launch show EVER.
But, S4 actually looks choice in the GSMArena review photos and vids. Same old design for sure, but it does look modern, like a 2013 phone.
I'm not buying one, but heaps of people will.

You have to be retarded to say it's the same as Galaxy S3. I've had most high end phones that came out so far and I'm really not a samsung fanboy but i can hinestly say, it's the best choice on the market. Even though they could have made it look fancier, they opted for a slim body, less weight and less production costs. It's also not a unibody, like most android phone these days, which allows you to switch batteries. They improved just about everything i was missing on S3. Bigger battery, twice the CPU power, more than twice the pixels, straight edges, LTE on all variants and nlet's not forget everything else that competition doesn't offer, like air gestures, eye tracking, SD Card, and so on. So I feel sorry for HTC but it looks like another year in Samsung's shadow
