Number four was unveiled last week to set a new kind of fever brewing, after briefly easing some of the pre-announcement tension. Carriers are tripping over themselves to secure deals, while customers...

Acccording to Pocket-lint the Samsung Galaxy S4 is "ditching" octa-core in the UK to favour 4G.
If, this is true then we've been mislead with misleading information by Samsung.

Samsung, please sack the designer of the fone, it is looking old and dated! Like most who are upgrading from s3 we love the new hardware and most impotantly the removable battery is retained but please Get Rid of the plastic and replace with metal/Aluminium!
That is the only lacking bit to give it a premium feel and you would have sold a whole lot more without a doubt noboday wants to pay a premoium for a plasticky toy that looks the same.
I used to have an HTC but since they decided to follow iSheep and have non removable battery from the last range, I would never buy The HTC One even though I really like the feel of it. To me no use of having the best looking fone when the battery would not last a little more than a day, how many times I can only laugh at my work colleague & friends or peer when their iPhone runs out of battery and looking for a power point or had to sent the fone for battery service. All I have to carry is a spare battery Not a brick case or an external USB battery.

Finally some comments made sense here, to all the haters and crazy fanboys out there stop being so childish by bashing some phones as if your chosen phone is perfect! I mean its just a phone, why is it there will be a superiority complex?? Pick whatever that's best for you and nevermind the rest, it's just that simple. It's all about YOUR PERSONAL PREFERENCES!

Thanks for a really good review with all the relative key areas covered.
The facts speak for themselves. Again Samsung has raised the bar with comments like these its clear the S4 is a winner.
5" 1080p Super AMOLED should impress everyone - contrast, viewing angles and sunlight legibility are top notch
Amazing Samsung managed to squeeze the Galaxy S4 in a smaller body than the Galaxy S III, And that's without sacrificing the user-removable battery and microSD card slot. Snapdragon 600 variant of the Galaxy S4 and it's the fastest device we've tested yet. Crammed the phone with so many features.. Launches with Android 4.2.2, the latest version. S4 camera, too - powerful features hide behind one of the simplest UIs yet.
S4 packs the best ideas of several competing flagships into one. The Galaxy S4 is an improvement over its predecessor in every category.
Apple must go big or go home. If Apple has its usual release simply make the iPhone 5S a bit faster, the company will be in trouble
We expected the greatest smartphone ever built, and that is exactly what we got!
The Samsung Galaxy S4 was the most hotly anticipated Android phone of 2013 and based on what we've seen, it's certainly living up to the hype so far.
Overall, the new Samsung GALAXY S 4 is as remarkable as it is familiar..

First of all i am no fanboy, i will buy whateve fits into my lifestyle the best, and personally i will be buying this phone, for me and my needs for a phone it is the best product by a mile, as was the s3, sure the HTC one looks good but lacks things i need including micro sd and battery, also i like the majority of people have dropped my phones at least 2-3 times in the year i owned it and so far it does not have a mark on it because of the plastics its made from, and a bit of luck, it could easily have landed on a corner and it may have been a different story, so again the materials on these aluminium phones are no good for my personal needs, the sony xperia z was going to be my upgrade but having seen the phone in the flesh, the screen is really not that great, it just looks a little washed out, and im used to AMOLED screens and like them, and with the addition of the adaptive display control to alter the screen color, rightness, contrast a good feature, i also will use a host of the features on this phone, with a few exceptions, so for me this phone is the best. the point being tho all fanboys can defend their phones because of whatever reasons but if its good for you then who cares, when it comes down to looks and build quality,
DO YOU WANT A FORD WITH THE POWER OF A FERARRI or
DO YOU WANT A FERARRI WITH THE POWER OF A FORD???

i personally will choose power and function over looks every day, to a point of course, but this not much different to the s3 and its a nice looking phone.

because all those people who go on about looking premium....guys it may look premium but you will not get laid any faster because it looks premium stop going on about looks they are irrelevant.

Wow. Amazing phone. It does everything right and the display looks so perfect. I'd get this phone just for the display, yet this does the best at everything else as well.

I glanced at the comments and I think it's crazy how people are hating on a phone because it'll sell better than phones that other people own. Guys, if you enjoy you're phones then go ahead and do that. Xperia Z is pretty great too, plus it's waterproof. The HTC One might not be as good as everyone expected but it's still a pretty good phone and a choice for you if you hate the f-22 raptor-class polycarbonate so much. There's no reason for hatred.

The Yankee Group was so unimpressed with the Samsung Galaxy S 4 that it said that if Samsung were Apple, the phone would be called the Samsung Galaxy S IIIS.

Samsung haters always making negative comments on the plastic built body but I recall BlenTech proves that S3 survives much longer than iPhone5 in the blenders.

                                  It's plastic.

I'm assuming when you said the front was glass & the back was plastic & everything else was metal, that you were refering to the strip around the edges...

That's plastic too. & inside it's all plastic.
I've just taken the back off mine & the only bits I see made of metal are the housing for the camera, the speaker grill & the SD & SIM card covers.. (oh & the screws..)..

Not that I mind it being plastic..

When i first saw s4 from the back side, i thought...oh nooo, samsung went into a bathroom soap holder industry! :D
Ok, ok, thats a joke...now for real...

Well...i hear all kind of nonsense from both samsung fans and samsung haters.
Samsung does perform just a bit better due to it's overclocking (but it doesn't smash competition nor it's miles ahead like some samsung sheep says). And i believe that this small advantage is really not important in our everyday usage, and also, don't forget that the competition is at 4.2.1 not 4.2.2 like s4. The question is, does it overheat because of that overclocking? GSMArena didn't mention that.
It is also no doubt that the s4 will sell more than it's competition, and that's ok, because i do think it is maybe the most complete smartphone ATM, although far from perfect.

In the end, it all comes down to our personal needs and preferences...so haters, please stop bashing s4 and fans, please stop bashing competition and let people decide themselves.
