Samsung Galaxy S4 vs. Sony Xperia Z: When worlds collide

All of you guys can say that the Samsung Galaxy S4 is better than Sony Xperia Z. We all know that Sony first release the Xperia Z than the rival company. So, Samsung had more time to improve their Galaxy S4. And if Sony release another smartphone in the future and it will compete with Galaxy S4 you will say again that the Sony have better phone.

AnonD-129766, 01 Apr 2013Ok ok ok , now I can say: 1: Galaxy S4 2: Htc One 3: X... moreyea it is exactly the right order, samsung beat the HTC last week in the same test, but it was close, then samsung thrashing the sony this week, the only blip against samsung so far has been the build quality, but in my eyes its still a nice looking phone, may not be made to look expensive, but after 6 months it will look much nicer then the htc and sony and iphone, and its lighter then the s3, takes some doing considering they have bigger batter, bigger screen and generally more stuff to cram inside the phone, cant wait till 26th :-)

Yes you will notice the features SG4 brings
Yes you will notice the loud speaker on the SG4 especially when you put your phone in a bag or purse
Yes you will notice the camera quality, especially night mode on SG4
The difference between a car and a phone is that on a car you mostly see the exterior, making people to clearly focus on the beauty and design and performance comes second... Whereas as on a phone people mostly look at the screen not the body or exterior and features/camera quality comes next ... That's why average SG1 , average SG2 and ugly SG3 won soo many phone awards and had more sales compared to other phones.

Id rather buy a 'plastic' phone than one that looks good but it actually worse quality, XZ's waterproofing stops working over time and the screen comes with a screen protector because dragon tail FAILS

s, 01 Apr 2013Ok so the SGS4 won all categories except of build, but hone... moreNight mode was better on SG4, the pictures and words/text was easier to read on the SG4, when zooming in pictures XZ quality was slightly blurry and smudgy, SG4 also offers 360 panoramic pictures and still captures from videos is 9mp whiles it's 1mp on the XZ and add the 10+ features on the SG4 that's not found on the XZ... And your still saying Samsung still
Needs to improve on their camera?
Gsmarena is not the only professional review site that agrees on SG4 superior cam quality over XZ and other phones.

The camera is good but the software oversharpens pictures and the colors arent as pleasant as on the Xperia Z. Obviously there are other things in which the SGS camera is better. Im just worried itll become like HTC cameras with their overprocessing, the SGS 3 had less of that, and slightly better colors. Id say they really should fix that with a software update.

the result was very expected,sony announced before that its new flagships will aim to compete with the galaxy s3 and the iphone 5 ,so the xperia z has no chance against the s4.
i know sony has issues in camera performance although it supplies the camera sensors for the others (i don't know the reason)once i compared the 12mp camera of the xperia s with galaxy s2 and iphone 4s camera ,the xperia s camera was a failure,i expected xperia z to outperform the s4 in video recording but even this didn't happen.
sony moto "make.believe" is to make u beleive that its product is the best in the market while in reality it is not.
htc one is the strongest competitor to the s4 until the release of the new iphone.

I'll ignore anyon... moreSony did a fail. Clearly the s4 smashed the xperia z. It had everything crappier in every area apart from water proof and the iphone glass back which looks like iphone. S4 has better camera better screen better processor better sound. It's obvious the s4 will Trump the xz.

Three months ago I have a reservation not to take again a Samsung device due to some cool advantages definitely design and build quality-wise of smartphones like Sony Xperia Z and HTC One.
But now I changed my mind, definitely I'll upgrade my SGS3 to SGS4.
Kudos to GSMArena for bringing this excellent review for us people to help our decisions in choosing the best smartphone to date while we barely spend our hard-earned money.
Excellent job Samsung for SGS4. Overall qualities a smartphone can have with SGS4 and never disappointment me for the long wait (regardless of the build quality).

Pointless exercise. After S3 and cracking issue (featured on PA after I tipped them off and provided pic) nothing could convince me to touch the S4. Swore never to buy crap built phone/s ever again. The XZ is a thing of beauty and I doubt the non geeks out there give a toss about benchmarks! You can put lipstick on a pig but it is still a pig and no amount of gimmicks can elevate the S4 beyond piggery!
