Anonymous, 30 Jun 2013it's worse than last years vodafone smart 2,it has no apps ... moreYes, it does have apps, it does multi-task and the Asha os doesn't need multi-core processors or a huge amount of memory to run.

If Asha was on a Samsung S4 or Apple iphone it would run circles around both Android and ios.

Doubt it? Do you think that either Android or ios stripped to the bone would even run on this phone? No way.

This phone with 64mb runs circles around them. But then Nokia was always good with getting the most performance from the hardware. Something Android and WP could learn from.

I have and it runs circles around your 2011 gingerbread phone. Period. Tried 2 Of the Orange gingerbread phones in this price range. Like has been said, they lag and even picking up a phone call was slow on those phones.

Alcatel!?!, get real. Rebranded Chinese phones with gingerbread that were worse than the Orange phones.

I hope nokia willing to release an asha with at least 3,5" screen. The OS looks refreshingly new (for those who never own an N9), and fastlane is a nice idea for a touch OS.
Browsing on a 3" screen must be horrible since i had an htc explorer bfore with its 3,2" and browsing is pain in the @ss there

I regret buying this phone. It's having a difficulty connecting to the web however stable the network is.

guys please, this is a Java phone, with .jar size limit up to 5MB.

so please don't compare with low-end Android phones that can install app up to 50MB size, even if those are in the same price range.

                                        just look at here: http://www.developer.nokia.com/Devices/Device_specifications/Asha_501/
you can see yourself what Java API asha 501 support there.

it support mobile 3D graphics (.m3g), but in simplest form, so don't expect sophisticated 3D like in android or wp platform.
