Can some one who has hands on let me know which is a better choice - HTC Desire 600 (Dual Sim) or Sumsung S4 mini (Dual Sim)

Nice phone, it certainly beats the HTC one mini in all areas except for looks. It's a shame HTC didn't drop the stereo front speakers on the mini and leave in all the other good features (esp optical stabilization) if they had then s4 would have some competition.

S4mini isn't a fail .. Everyone likes it specs & it's actually pretty productive for its size .. & it's a little taller then the Galaxy S2 but the s4mini is a lot slimmer..

I managed to have a good play with the S4 and the S4 mini in CarPhoneWarehouse (Worcester branch) recently as they had working units next to each other.
GSM arena's web site is an ideal site for comparisons as it is quite busy. Comparing the site on both phones (phone vertical, full site), yes, it was *slightly* sharper on the S4 - but it was well readable on the S4 mini and you could make out the text easily. There were demo videos of Despicable Me 2 on both phones and video looked almost the same on both (played horizontally) and it was hard to tell them apart. I believe both demos were full HD. Certainly the screen on the S4 mini looks better than my Razr i ( same resolution but, being pentile, looks quite dotty). Therefore, the non-pentile screen on the S4 Mini makes all the difference with the qHd resolution and you don't lose a great deal vs. 1080p and even less vs. 720p. I still wish the S4 mini was 720p, though as that would have been more worthy of the S4 name. However, you probably get a nice increase in battery life with qHd as against 720p.
The size is pretty good, too. A lot smaller than you'd think. I'm beginning to believe this size is a good compromise between portability and media viewing.
I don't know what the big fuss is with poly-carbonate plastic. If you keep your phone in a case like I do, it makes no difference whatsoever. The advantages of the S4 mini over similar devices continue with a replaceable battery, SD card and a nice compact and light design.
For me, my next upgrade is certainly the S4 mini although as I've only just had the Razr i so perhaps I should wait a couple of months :)

Not sure about the accuracy of the sunlight readability in the review, I have put S4, HTC One and S4 mini side by side in direct sun and the Mini beats S4 hands down and is even a little more visible than the One...This point needs to be emphasised in the review...as your contrast ratio chart seems to put S4 as being better?

GSM Arena just did the One Mini preview confirming the specs. One Mini is significantly bigger and heavier than S4 Mini, and One Mini's camera does not have OIS (which makes a difference in low light situations). When the One Mini review comes out, I suspect the battery life will only be average (especially with the HD screen). In comparison, GSM Arena basically said that S4 Mini's battery life is awesome and if they do something about the standby consumption via FW updates, the battery life could be one of the best they've seen. I'm glad I bought S4 Mini instead of One Mini.

This unit is more expensive than the S3 which has a much nicer specs other than the most latest version of OS.
