Samsung Galaxy S4 vs. LG G2: Neighbor squabble

16 September 2013
The Samsung Galaxy S4 is the Android flagship to beat based on sheer sales, but the LG G2 one ups it in just about every way possible. Two South Korean neighbors and bitter rivals are once again standing in each other’s way, and for us, users, choosing a...

Ronny, 17 Sep 2013Feel cheated? S4 released somewhere in April. Now it's Sept... moreThere is a thing called as Shipment and there is also a thing called delivery through someone and there is also a thing that you have no idea where it is fixed or not. I mis-wrote about those two Octa and S600 but you know something. The Octa was never meant for my country but I can see it in many shops in bulks. Anyways, nice try though.

I'm more interested in Exynos' stability since it's fabbed by Samsung than Snapdragon on TSMC. The Snapdragon S4 Pro in my Nexus 7 (2013) heats up more and tends to close app on demanding games like Modern Combat 3.

Now it's September and I don't see any more powerful variant available at any stores now. The snapdragon 800 version is only for Korea. So I don't see your point there but nice try though. By the way the octa is GT-i9500.

Hmmm, i think gsmarena should write reviews about Xperia Z1 vs LG G2 vs S4(S800).. Same phone class, same processor.. It will be exciting..

Wow - all that power and no where to go but to drive the operating system. I will wait for the LG Z100, or the Samsung Universe S100, but I am worried both will do not much more that an original iPhone. Opps, that is my candy bar Nokia mobile phone calling me. It works. Ar back again. To me these devices do not deliver the great leap forward in usability as did the S2 or iPhone 4 when they came out. These mobiles are like dragsters with no wheels. I can appreciate the work of their engineers, remarkable, but I have no need to buy one. Actually I use a Blackberry Z10 which does the secure job, and a top of the range Sony Notebook which a mobile phone will never be able to replace in business.

                  I don't think there's even a 16GB version sold here in thailand.

It's 32GB for 19,900 baht, which is a lot cheaper than a 16GB S4. So I'm not sure what GSMarena is talking about.

Also the Note 3 here is the Octa Core crap variety which gets no LTE, while the cheaper G2 has LTE.

The extra 0.2" comes in handy when you have on screen buttons. Much better than a 4.7" Nexus with on screen buttons. The G2 at least gives you a solid 5".

I love the look of the G2 but would never buy it with just 32GB of storage when the S4 has up to 128GB.

That said, neither of these come close to my next phone.... the Note 3 :-)

"With great battery life, the one potential hurdle the G2 faces in the coming years is the limited storage if you go for the 16GB version."

The battery life degrades with every charging cycle. In a year it might not be so great anymore. And since you can't replace it without dismantling the phone...
