PureView is on its way down in history and while we loved the Nokia 808, it will be the Lumia 1020 that makes the name more than a footnote. With a modern OS and improved design of both the camera and the...

In our area people still address cell phones as nokia .. This company was for phones .. and it died with some serious management politics and after this butcher Elop came it got even worse .Sarcastically : Elop eloped with nokia.

Who will buy this expensive crap just for the camera ? Several seconds shot to shot ??? Buy a proper camera and a proper phone. Nokia should have kept to 30$ phones from the ninety's.

To GSMARENA, I am a little bit concerned why Nokia Lumia 1020 review is later to be posted than Xperia Z1. In fact, the 1020 was just announced last July. I am not here to question the legitimacy of your site GSMARENA but, after reading both reviews of Nokia Lumia 1020 and Sony Xepria Z1, I found out something.. readers need consistency. Peace!

[deleted post]You are simply forgetting that Sony had to make compromises in order to not have a hump too. They put the camera module in the top bezel as putting it behind the screen, like Nokia, increases the thickness. That makes the Z1 the biggest 5-inch phone out there. The G2 with a bigger screen is much smaller. And they didn't even put the Android buttons in the bottom bezel, again wasting space. If you are complaining about the hump in the 1020, the same can be said of the bezel in the Z1.
Oh, and the difference is pretty big in terms of image quality too. It wasn't GSMA's fault that Sony gave them a pre-production unit to review.

                        Review PERFECT!!
I'll buy the 64gb version but is absurdly expensive in Brazil ... (U.S. $ 1,400.00).
It would be great to launch a rival one device with Xenon to rival the 1020 and remain competitive.
Sorry for not having Xenon Xperia Z1.

I would really like to try this phone. If it were offered in Andriod I might just buy it in a heart beat.

Between my wife iPhone and myself using Android. Plus all the useful apps we purchased and use regularly everyday, there is hardly room for one more.

I would want to buy this phone for my personal collection. Just like N9 and N808, this phone is unique in its own way.

"Lumia 1020 is The One That Got Away. We didn't realize it until we were through with our review and we knew this is probably Nokia's farewell with the world. There are a few more devices to come from the Finns, but none of them will come close to the Lumia 1020. And yet, lots of people won't get this gem even though they love it."

"We all need to remember what Nokia was and that this is pretty much the same company today. And the Lumia 1020 is a great example of Nokia's dedication to its fans."

These are some lines which made me emotional after reading your review.

AnonD-63176, 21 Sep 2013you are missing my point. I understand people expect more... moreIs really worse than HTC One to be honest. Images are not sharp for a 20MP. I dare say a 4MP HTC One photo looks even sharper than these when the 20MP is downsized to 4MP. And not to mention the noise level. Perhaps an update to the camera firmware may help, but at this moment, the photos are just bad.
