And it does not make sense to compare shots in full resolution so we would see how the sensors perform that way just like the rest. The same way the One's photos are compared to 13mp and 20mp samples without changing either.
I'm so glad you are not turning this into a pointless debate like you love to do.

But ... more"stretching"the image does not add defects,it just to make it easier for comparing the different sizes of images considering the range of 4mp to 40mp,so it is the most fair way....and i read the the whole conversation that's the reason 'im saying comparing native resolution of all phones as nokia and sony have compromised on size to incorporate a bigger sensorallowing higher mp count,therefore that would clearly be unfair....whereas "stretching" images adds no defect but it only makes the already present shortcomings easier to notice,which is atleast more fair than the previous option.....

AnonD-144156, 19 Oct 2013Xperia Z1 gives you the best overall image quality of all l... moreWhat do you mean "standard",they did post images in both max resolution and in default settings.......besides size of image has nothing to with quality of sensor,by simple physics 1020 has biggest and hence better sensor compared to 1/2.3" of z1 and even smaller sensors of the rest of the phones...so it'll be only fair to compare what the average user will use,the image at default settings......

HTC one , 1020 and IP5s the best in low light. If HTC one has 8 MP Ultra going to beat all these phones in low light.

Why didnt this review also include the samsung galaxy zoom phone and the sony Ericsson z1? I love my lumia 1020 but also love using my samsung galaxy camera as the 20x zoom is amazing. Would have loved to see if the samsung galaxy zoom would par up? At the same time the sony z1 when equiped withthe wireless cam is amazing. Can you imagine the miscief, snooping on cheating gfs etc. Also its the only phone to stream real time to facebook. Gsm arena should have included these two titans.

2.upscaling is the most fair method,actually using native resolution would be unfair to all but htc.....

And upscalling the others creates degrading in them. They left the other shots in their native resolution and size. That's 4mp, 13, and 20mp. The 1020 to make this review completely neutral all the way through should compare it's 38mp outcomes.
