what do these crazy people expect!!! all complaining about daft things like the speed/ the memory/ the camera. its CHEAP PHONE! your not gonna get great quality for 50 quid!!!! ive had this phone for about a year and ive got no problems with it. its very easy to use, saves a couple of songs- enough for a couple of interchangable ringtone. you can add a memory card to it, its a 1.3 mp camera and its bluetooth= how many other phones can you get for that price that have all those qualities!!!!?
Stop complaining if your not willing to pay the extra for a phone with better spec.
I've bought expensive phones before and none seem to last long with me, i went thru 2 motorola v3's in a month!
overall, very reliable, easy to use, good spec considering the low price and defo great value for money.

I've had my phone for 7 months and after trying to put some new songs on it, it ended going from holding 6 or 7 songs to 3 and then this 'USBC' and added punctuation marks at the end. I have no idea how this happened. Also, i agree with most people that the bluetooth is rubbish as it comes up 'failed' and that the mp3 isn't very loud.

You got MEMORY CARD!
It refuses some transfers:.image size too big, format audio not allowed.
You must also send into service. There is a bug which should be solved(background trouble).
The BTooth is not for mp3/aac transfer.Use a cable(miniUSB from HP,CAnon photo)or a card-reader.
LEARN to USE the PHONE!

I got this phone for christmas and was very pleased as it has good features! I soon regretted this as it is a VERY slow phone!!! When i flip it up it stays on a black screen for so long AND then my background comes up. I also have to keep puting my background back up as it just disappears. It does not have much memory for songs as i can only fit about 6. The bluetooth is so slow and sometimes after it sends it says 'failed when reading'!!!!! I will never buy a sagem mobile again EVER!!!!!

Well, I'll give it a bit of support. I'm not as young as many of you on here and I'm female so I like the pink colour (makes sure hubby or son doesn't help themselves to it :)) I don't do a lot of texting so that's not an issue with me. The camera works OK - haven't tried the video yet. Just connected my Bluetooth headset to it (Motorola HS820) and it seems to be working OK. Overall I'm very pleased with the phone - it does what I want it to do. The only downside is I don't think it has voice activation which surprises me as it's Bluetooth compatible, although my previous phone was a Motorola Razr (fell out with T-Mobile so it doesn't work now) and the voice activation didn't always work on that anyway.
The My501C is on the Orange Pay As You Go network and I got a good deal on it so I'm happy.

The volume in mp3 is usually a matter of the mp3 imported from PC(loud in pc=loud in phone).
If you want more vol.in ringtone use a software equalizer(but the quality will be less).

I purchased this phone on the 8th March 2007 and took it back on the 10th March (was bought from Argos at £39.99 on Virgin Network).
Initial impression of the phone when it was bought it looked a nice phone.
When I finally had the phone charged up it was found to be
1) Slow accessing various parts of the phone especially sms when changing to mms.
2) Sound Volume was poor and that included the hands free speaker option (waste of time).
3) Camera was not too bad for the price.
4) MP3 Player now this is where the problems start (when you start playing music (midi, mp3 and aac it starts ok ish but after flicking through about 5 tunes the phone display goes off then comes back on with a blank white screen with a grey line and welcome as if the phone was crashing and re booting itself).
5) After the mp3 problem occures your wallpaper pre set by yourself changes to a blank screen and no wallpaper and the T9 Predictive Text mode which was set changes back to ABC Tap Tap mode.
6) The inner screen is more like a CSTN screen rather than a TFT similar to the old Sony Ericsson T610 ( a poor show).
Basically i would advise anyone considering to buy this phone on Virgin to give it a miss (if your thinking of getting it on another network get a demonstration before you buy checking out what i have put in here, orange uk stores should be fine to show you the phone working, if anyone refuses to allow you to try the phone out in a phone shop then dont buy the phone this goes for any other phone being sold unless you have a good returns policy like a real virgin store has. Argos is not the best place to ask for a refund bit like getting blood out of a stone. They dont allow you to even try the phones out at home and change your mind as they say returns in 30 days only if unused).
ONE IMPORTANT THING TO NOTE:
All of Argos sold Virgin Phones have Sim Cards with no free £5 Airtime Credit (they must have asked for it to be not put on the sim). The Argos Version of this phone does not come with handsfree kit or memory card reader.
