UPDATE:
myx5-2 handset manager software website:
http://global.mobileaction.com/en/product/product_HMFeatures.jsp
for usb cable u need MA-8520P cable number
for infra red u need the MA-660 (note generic infra red adaptors will not work with this software only the MA-660 will)
http://www.sagemplanet.info/x5_animations.htm
free animations/wallpapers etc
also 2 min ringtone recorder thing i said in previous post instructions:
you can record a ringtone for 30 seconds with the sound recorder, well you can record for longer. go into messages and compose an MMS. then go to options and insert and then go on record comment. it has a maximum of 2:25 so once youve finished recording you get some options, insert, listen and record again. if you go on listen and put the volume up to 4 it sounds very quiet but dont be fooled by this. insert it into the message and go on save in options. the message will be saved in drafts so go to your drafts. the message will not have a name but go on it and go to options. there will be an option to extract, which lets you extract the sound you have just recorded in the message. you can then save it in my sounds and use it as a ringtone.
2:25 min 100kb ringtone
Enjoy :D

This is my first camera phone and so far i really like it
not having anything to pit it against as an all round first camera phone its pretty good for the price
the sound recorder is 30secs (if you want it as a ringtone) or 1 min if its a voice note
(there is a way to get to 2mins ish)
camera not to bad tho my nephews nokia 7600 is better quality
the software for transfering pictures and ringtones is MY PICTURES AND SOUNDS 7.07 is latest google it its easily found (i cant remember which site i got mine from sorry)
though i now use infrared as nephew has just upgraded to samsung e800 its easier for me but the above software did work well for me with the data cable tho occassionally i had to reboot phone if the ringtones were large files!
as for unlocking yes it can be done but not for free u will NOT find any "remote unlock code" you will have to PAY to get it unlocked and possibly send it away
at the moment it looks like the only way to get java games on it is through wap but check out www.gsm-forum.com search sagem myx and have a read lots of info there possibly updating as im writing this
other than that cant fault phone my one bit of adbice if you have not already done so and intend on buying the phone - to - pc cable get the USB version NOT SERIAL the usb cable has alot more options software wise
ie. i have the serial cable cannot backup phonebook etc!
so get the usb cable and get the "MyX5-2 Handset Manager" software (will not work with serial data cable or infra red)
also saw someone ask how to get photo call id dont know if it was answered but....
store number to phone go to the desired contact options>modify contact> photo > browse> save :D
if you save numbers to sim it wont work
im happy with my little sagem.......for now!!!!

I have a problem with this. In Brazil, he is builted by Gradiente and his model is Gradiente Neo Cam GX-II. the gradiente´s home page don´t have any ringtones, wallpapers or screenpapers avaliable to free download. I knew that in the sagem homepage (www.planetsagem.com) but the homepage requests a register. I can´t do the register because the homepage can´t recognize the imei number of my cell. Anyone could help me? if yes, mail me. Thanks

good points are excellent value for money. You must remember this is a cheap phone, the quality of anything it does is not amazing. On the other hand i was surprised with what it can do. The picture editor is great for tweaking images youve taken. Camera takes images at 640x480, you can set the luminosity for low light conditions but quality will suffer greatly. works best in natural light.
can record sound files but again its not great at this, will not play mp3s uploaded via infrared as far as i know.
Oh if by 'photo call' they mean the image you asign to the contact appearing when they call then yes this phone has that - doesnt mention it above in the specs.
Memory is the biggest issue, i havent nearly used it up yet but it is quite limited at about 3mb shared for sounds and images. If youre a casual user this wont be a problem but if you want high performace (cram it full of ringtones, games, take pics of everything you see) then its not for you.
i guess sim locking depends on the network you choose. I'm with orange, the phone is locked to that network so i couldnt for example take the orange supplied sim card out and put in an O2 one to use. The phone would just reject it or ask for an unlocking code (which i could get from orange for a cost i believe).
Thats all i can think of just now

Love it, cost a fraction of the price of similar camera phones. Viewfinder quality goes right down in poor lighting conditions and pictures generaly have less vibrance than more expensive phones, but still amazing for what you pay.. try cranking up the saturation in the editor.
My first camera phone, ive seen others that cost 3 times as much - this easily competes
