I received this phone for mother's day 2009. By June 8th when my family took a trip to Florida, it had stopped getting service. I too contacted AT&T to find that my phone had gotten "moisture damage." At&T refused to replace it or even to allow me to buy another phone at the same price. I am back to using my old RAZR and am sorry I got the texting plan and sorry I bought this phone!

If I had read these commnets before I would not have gotten this phone. Acivated it just before Christmas and in the last month the phone started turning off by itself, now up to 5 times an hour. Called at&t and since the dot shows "moisture" damage, no warranty. This phone has never had any moisture damage and as a matter of fact has had a silicone cover on it since day one. Do not get this phone

i have this phone and it was ok for the first couple of month but then after a while it just started shuting off on its own and it was just not sending messages proberly. All in all it was just aggravating me. I could be in the middle of a phone call in it would shut off. i went to to the store and they told me that it had water damage. Mind you i bealy ahd the phine for a good 3 months before the problems stated showing up. I have a one year contract so i really cant get a new phone untill the january of next year. They told me to get insurance and get a new phone but what they fail to mention that the price of the phone will show up on your next bill if you get a new phone through insureance. im starting to hate this phone.

Anonymous, 21 Jul 2009We upgraded 4 phones to the propel in November 2008. 2 need... moreI cant believe what I am reading right now. today is aust 4th, I got the propel phone a month ago, I knew it was problematic when I first got it. It doesn't hold a charge at all. one 15-2-min call and your down two bars. I get static, and other problems. I've been a custemer with at&t since the late 90's through all the changes and I went to the store to exchance it and the same thing happened to me. They said the box on the back was red, which meant water damage. I lost it, I said the phone has never been wet and I had paid full price for the phone because, unfortunately something did happen to my other phone. I told them this is a scam, I spoke to the manager(who I could not believe was a manager) she wanted me to buy another phone for $40.00 and said she would give me insurance and also said I could pay a fee to get out of the contract, I was so irate I had to leave. Oh and I had also mentioned that there has been like 90% humidty off and on especially the day I brought it back, I am with you, any attorney's out there?

Don't get this phone, the phone has a design and manufacturer's problem. Samsung should should re-check their product. After using it for 5 months, the life of the battery is worst and the moisture on the back turns orange and a big message on the screen 'Download' with red background. You cannot do anything on the phone. This summer, we have a lot of moisture in the Northeast with almost everyday rain. And all of a sudden I got these message after charging it overnight. We should report these to the Better Business Bureau. ATT does not honor the warranty because Samsung does not honor it also. Do not buy Samsung product if they don't do anything about this product. They design it to fail and they included this like litmus paper to justify themselves.

My husband and I upgraded to the Propel in March. This is July and my husband's microphone does not work. We tried to get AT&T to replace the phone under the warranty and they will not honor it because he has a red dot indicating moisture. I decided to look at the dot on my phone and it is also red. Neither of us has gotten our phone wet. I also called my daughter who has a Propel and she said her dot was red and she has not gotten her phone wet. AT&T said we should not have our phones in the bathroom while showering! I was with Cingular who was bought out by AT&T since 2002 and never had any problems with any of the NOKIA phones we have had. I think there is a defect in this phone which lets moisture in and we as customers are getting the short end of the stick. I too have had battery charging problems. I have no doubt AT&T will loose us as customers and I don't care if I have to pay an early termination fee!!!

We hate these phones. We got two in February. My husbands buzzes when talking so he either has to text or else call on a landline. My daughter's battery life is only a couple of hours. We bought a new $40 and same thing. AT&T says, water damage. Never had water damage that we're aware of! Come on, My husband had an LG and my daughter had a Motorola for a full 2 1/2 years with no problems! What a joke! I'm not paying $250 for a new phone! I'd rather switch to Verizon and pay the termination fee!

We upgraded 4 phones to the propel in November 2008. 2 needed to be replaced within 45 days. All of these
phones are having shut off problems or charging issues. One of the phones was accidentally run thru the washer and of course ruined. The other 3 are all showing moisture damage although they have not been wet. AT&T will not honor the warranty. Look at all the other posts. Are there any lawyers out there to bring a class action suit? Unhappy Roger

I got the Samsung A767 Propel in mid February. It was great, I liked it a lot. It took awhile to get used to the qwerty keyboard though, I'll admit. And then about, 2 months ago or so, maybe less, it started acting up. My phone would randomly start shutting off if it was jostled or if I shut it. It was driving me crazy! So, we called AT&T under warranty, and we sent it back, and they sent me a new Propel. Well, I just activated it today and it's ALREADY having the same problem. It's driving me crazy! And sometimes when I try to turn it back on after it's shut off, it takes me at least two minutes because it just won't turn on at all. I am seriously contemplating getting a new phone, if there's no fix for this one.

mosephus, 30 May 2009We bought four propels in December, in the last few weeks t... moreSame problem with the red sticker. All other phones Ive had have had the sticker under the battery. You have to pull the battery out in order to see if the sticker has changed to red. Not on the Propel. Simply slide the cheap plastic batter cover off and looky there. The sticker is sitting in plain site beside the battery. Not only that if you look at the speaker large speaker on the back of the phone and where the back cover is slotted to allow the speaker to play thru you will notice how very easily any type of moisture can access that darn little red sticker. Could be AT&T way of saveing themselves money on replaceing phones. May see a trend in moisture stickers showing up in places on the phone where water or anything else can get to it easy so when you do have a lagit gripe well then guess what? That sticker releases them from blame and places it on YOU! BOO HISSSSS

JP, 11 May 2009So how do you flush my phone to allow me to use MP3 rington... moreRingtones are easy to customize. I downloaded software with my last phone, and it works with this one too. tonethis.com
And any music you have on your computer you can cut as long or as short of the song as you want for your ringtone..fade it in and out.. it's nice.. and you just send it to your phone and download it. takes like 2 seconds. I like it, and when you want it as your ringtone for this phone just look it up under audio or whatever and hit apply for ringtone. it's easy.

We bought four propels in December, in the last few weeks two have stopped working, my wife stopped in at an AT&T store to see if they could tell us what the problem was, the moisture detection stickers on both had turned pink. She also found out that one that was still working had actually turned red indicating high water damage. These phones have never been subjected to high moisture conditions. Shouldn't a phone have some degree of protection from natural elements such as high humidity or sweat? Ready for disposal after 5 months of normal use?

Had this phone for 4 months so far, recently it started shutting off and turning back on intermettenly when I would slide it closed. It finally started to shut off and restart every time i closed the phone. I called AT&T Warranty line and spoke to support who informed me that it is out of warranty cause the water damage sticker was red! Bullshiz (with a z)! Back to the GoPhone.

Very disappointing. Turns off during conversations, reception is terrible in areas where we never had a problem with our motorola phones. Highly recommend NOT to buy, you will be sorry that you did.

have had the a767 for about 3mos now, and am pretty pleased with it. i use for some stuff (phone, music, vid, notes, camera), but no net/online apps or games or anything. anyways, QWERTY keys are small, but you get used to it. its been dropped many times and hard enough so that the battery door pops off, and is NO worse for the wear. the music player/interface is pretty darn good (though album art is miniscule). that it plays nice with so many formats is a big plus. the thing gets left on the sink countertop while i'm in the shower, never a moisture issue. interface overall is pretty good, and moderately customizable. i dunno that i would've paid full-boat for this as i dont need nearly all this phone offers, but w/the ATT contract continuance discount (phone for $29.95), its pure absolute win.
