This phone is a waste of money, I have had it a total of about 3months and it is starting to not read my SIM Card. After turning it off and on several times it stays the same.
Hav to take the battery and SIM Card out to make it work again.
Can't get return from store I bought it from.
Be wary of this phone.

phone is cute looking but the screen (CSTN) is pathetic. people with poor sight cant read the numbers on the screen.

Bought mine a couple of days ago. Very nice basic phone (I collect them). Slide phone function is a pleasure to use. A couple of gripes: in the gsmarena video, you could see clearly that you can change the SMS font size. I can't in my B500! One more thing about SMS, why does it have to be choice between vibrate and ring? Why not do both? Quite irritating!

your thinking is wrong about the slider models. samsungs have superb slider mechanism on both high end or low end models. they dont compramise on the quality. there was an issue only with the firt slider model from nokia 6111 where it has given problems to many of it's users. i recently bought B500 and the battery charged by the company at the time of packing showing 2 bars on the screen battery indicator lasted for me without charging further for more than a day even after making and receiving many calls. since its having CSTN screen which has a tendency to consume low battery power, i am sure the battery should last for a heavy user for more than 3 to 4 days. I appreciate its sound quality and signal strength. i have used many sofistacated mobile with hell a lot of features and made use of none. so this simple basic model which is cute is more than enough for day to day calls.

i just love this mobile!!! i buy dis about 2,990 at memoexpress at philippines and i love the feature the structure and the price my mom getting this mobile also i dont need camera nor mp3 player for this fone i have cybershot cam and also ipod i just love this fone its basic and full of feature

im planning to buy this but i was doubting since this is a slide up. is the quality of this ok? most slide ups i know are not functioning well anymore after several months.

even i have seen this model in dubai which costs around USD.70/-. phone is damm cute to look at but didnt make up my mind to buy it instead i bought e590 and believe me it's one hell of a fantastic phone. worth every penny i have paid for it. feature packed little marvel. hats of to Jasper Morrison, one of the worlds leading industrial designer who has designed this model. black looks more beautiful than silver white. but e590 is released into russian, european and far eastren markets only and this model is not going to come into middle east markets. some shops in dubai who have picked up for those markets are selling for USD.165/- and in bangkok (mbk market) it costs only USD.105/-. i recommend this model highly. the buyers of e590 will not be disappointed.

FINALLY!!! samsung have a NO CAM PHONE!!!
It must have finally realized that it cud do a world of good to people related to corporate industry with its handsets skillfully built for everydaY use ...this can easily give stif competition to moto who has launched w230 & w270 clamshell models apart from few others who can attract buyers frm this segment...i jus wish the user memory on this wud have been 5-10 MB ...but ehh lets wait n watch !

how is the call quallity and how loud is the speaker? i have the samsung e590 and it has excellent and loud call quallity.

stylish designed,reasonable price,and good perfomance,this is my first slide-phone,and will buy another one for back-up,recommended!
