I got this phone a month ago and here is my 2 cents worth:
THIS PHONE HAS NO FULL ACCELEROMETER! it only works when viewing movies and pictures.
you can, however change to portrait view in any menu or browser, but you will have to pull out the keyboard to do so as the accelerometer wont work (why Samsung?)
(I find this a pain as Id rather use my phone in portrait view. plus its easier to just quickly snap out the keyboard to write an sms while already in portrait mode, rather than having to navigate thru the menus in "normal" view and then only once you get to the sms menu, having to tilt the phone.)
another problem: if you like to check your e-mail or browse the web, well this phone is gonna give you a hard time as messages like: "page too big, content may not be presented properly" or "download rate not correct" (while watching some videos on YouTube). or my personal favorite: "phone memory full" (after opening just 4-5 pages. and yes I have space on the phone, its the RAM memory thats the problem, not the storage memory)
the final and worst problem (just as with most of Samsung phones): the OS!
yep, once again Samsung made a phone that you cant install anything on. at least from 3rd party providers. if you want any app installed on this phone, it has to be from Samsung. there is no unrar app on/or that can be installed on this phone either, so dont bother trying to download any ziped, rared or compressed movies or pictures as the phone cant read it (it wont even download it)

advice: if you really don't care about the above but like all the other features on the phone, like GPS, there are other better phones with GPS than this one.
and if the above IS important to you, then just invest an extra 30-40 euros on a better symbian or android phone and you wont regret it. (I recommend NOKIA as I never had anything to complain about them. I traded my corby pro for the Nokia e71 and think its the best thing i could have ever done. price is the same too)

Siste jane it saw ur post tat how to make work the java apps nd games in landscape mode usin meta inf file :) I opned the folder with winrar and tat file with msoffice n edited tat as u said... it wrks well n operamini n some other applcations.. but fr som apps n most games touch sensitvity is nt workn evn aftr editin as lik u said.. and also wen i turn those apps or games to landscape mode 1/4 of the screen comes i white colour without tat tiny arrows in zoomd view !!! wat shoud i do????

it's a very good camera for a 3.15Mp camera without auto focus and flash... just use the mode that's compatible with the picture or the scene to take a perfect pictures... you have.. Portrait, landscape, night, sports, sunset and text... and the shooting mode are: single picture, smile shot, continuous and panorama…
When you view them on pc… there are amazing and show every detail now matter how much you zoom
And for anyone who can’t make their hands stable while taking pictures… use the sports mode… it will work as if you have autofocus in your camera :)

Well first of all you are most welcome :)
Now about your problem… do the following steps:
1st your phone:
1)Back up all the data that you save on your phone memory
2)Remove your memory card
3)Hard reset you phone by going to menu… settings… scroll down to reset setting… select all then reset… OR… you can use this code to hard reset your phone… *2767*3855#
4)Now insert the memory card again but still don’t connect your phone to the pc/laptop until I tell you…
2nd your pc/laptop:
1)uninstall your Kies
2)restart your pc/laptop
3)follow the instruction that I said to Vijay to install Kies again
Try this and tell me what happen :)

Well as I always say you cannot compare a brand with another…. cause each brand have her unique software's and features and so on...and in the end you will not be able to choose… but you can compare between phone models in the same brand :)...
Nokia phones is a Symbian os… always crashed easily and viruses can affect them easily and everyone know every code about the phone... so there is no privacy at all even if you use the security lock… but Samsung phones nothing happen to the Os and there is privacy in every section... with no codes, programs to crack it and no virus can effect it no matter how hard you try… so if anyone told me any to choose between any model from nokia or Samsung Corby pro… I’ll go for Corby pro…. Don’t worry... Corby pro worth the money

1)Music: the sound is more than amazing to a way I stopped using my mp3 player and I use the CorbyPro music player instead and you have 11 sound effects: Normal, Rock, Jazz, Live, Classic, Megabass, Concert hall, Music clarity, Wide, Bass enhancement
and Externalisation
2)Internet accessibility: well I didn’t use the wifi yet but the internet via wap profile is fast
3)Battery: Excellent battery performance… I recharge my phone every 4 days with light use... but with heavy use (listening to music, messaging, calls, internet and I even leave an application running all night long) and I recharge it every 2 days...
4)fast in operation: well it’s fast enough and it’s a multitask phone
5)Good video display: well it’s really good and you can watch anything you like and you will never ever fell that you’re watching it on your phone… it’s Excellent

Well about the vibration is good and strong and yes you can turn it off… well you have 2 types of vibration in this phone…
1st one… the keys vibration.. and it’s how the phone will vibrate when you press a key… and you have 5 levels for that
2nd one… is the vibration that works with the ringtone, messages and alarm
Wifi coverage… well I didn’t use my wifi yet but everyone says it’s excellent
Messages… you can store messages up to 1300 message + the messages that you can save on you sim card

I used to be nokia fan then I found out the os always crashed easily and viruses effect them easily and everyone know every code about the phone... so there is no privacy at all even if you use the security lock.... so I turned to Sony Ericsson (amazing phones but they got no privacy in any way) cause I always thought that Samsung is not a good company.... until I met my husband (he's a Samsung fan in everything :D)and found out the Samsung is the best... they good amazing phones, user friendly java os, a chic design, a tough phone and a privacy in every section... with no codes, programs to crack it and no virus can effect it no matter how hard you try... beside they have the best service in repairing your phone if anything is damaged or not working...
So just go for it and don't worry... :)

Anyway let's go through your questions one by one....
About the trick on how to install applications and games from getjar.... you are welcome... :)
Now about Kies and the update.... well it's always recommended that you update the pcsuite that you have because every 2 month or something new options are available to make your program more easy to use... and you need to update the program to get those options... so I recommend you to update Kies to Version 1.5.1.10074.2... It’s not much different from the old version but couple of new widget will appear in your Kies after update.....
About downloading applications and games from samsungapps dot com... most of those applications and games are for Samsung wave... don't worry they will work on Corby Pro but you need astore widget on your Kies to be able to download them... and it's not available yet... I hope it will be in the next version... now how do Samsung wave users download that stuff... I don't know... but I’ll read their opinions on gsmarena today maybe I’ll find something...
About the wap... I don't think that there is something wrong with your unit... try to contact your service provider again and ask them to send you a message that contain the installation of the wap service… cause honestly it's the 1st I hear that someone manually set the Settings of the wap profile.... here in Egypt... we simply call the service provider then they send us message... the press install setting in the end of the message and then enjoy the wap service...

sis i have a problem connecting on WAP i go to my network provider to ask the setting of the WAP in my phone they give me a Settings den i configure and when i open the internet to connect it says UNEXPECTED FAILURE waaaa....
but when i try connecting on other wifi its fine do you think my unit has a problem?

Great Qwery Keyboard than the B5310W
150MB internal memory its greater than B5310W its only have 40MB
There's have the Video call function while B5310W has no Video Call function..
there's have a 3G HSDPA 7.2Mbps while B5310W has no 3G features.
and the others ithinks the same
about the price in the philippines i bought my corby pro at the price of 12,400php and some shop offer for 10,900 and other 11,600..
