Samsung Corby Pro user from philippines here.
my newly bought samsung corby pro randomly restarts.
My phone is openline.
when I use my Smart-SimCards (2 different sims tested)and It randomly restarts.
but when I use my SunCellular and Globe-SimCards(1sim each).It has no problem at all. I Dont experience auto-restarts.
Smart Sim Card - regular and mini sized copper chip
Sun Cellular & Globe - Regular sized copper chip. has a curved multiple connecting lines on chip. I bet you guys saw this kind of sim cards.
here's my conclusion :
the phone only support simcards that has this kind of sim cards(design).
-I'll try to find smart simcards w/ this kind of design to test if restarts will happen again or not.

well it's not an option in the phone... it's a application you download to be able to download youtube video's if you use the main browser(Dolphin) ... go to getjar and write in search box... you tube and you will see all the applictions :)

well this is true you can not watch the common video formats like avi, flv, mpg... so you have to convert them but not to mkv but to 3gp or mp4... and I STRONGLY recommend the VIDEO CONVERTER inside KIES program :)

Even from main browser I am unable to watch video... moreAnd I am very much uncomfortable with the main browser(Dolphin). You cannot open multiple pages, cannot minimize, can't do multi-tasking like with the browser open you cannot call or sms. There are many disadvantages attached to it.

when i tried to connect to wi fi it said "no response from AP"
now when i connected to a open connection (not password protected) it got connected easily
i am trying to connect to my laptop thru wireless lan
bt all it says is "no response from AP"
plzz help me out
lemme know what all do i have to fill when we edit da connection
whr do we have to fill da IP adress n if its da IP adress of da laptop dat runs the internet
whatever it is

Anonymous, 18 Aug 2010I have this phone and i totally recomend it! but does any o... moreYes you can block your phone number from showing up when you call someone else but in some country to have to contact the operator before activating such option... like in Egypt, you have to connect Vodafone for example before activating this option...
to activate it… go to menu... settings... scroll down to application settings… press on call… choose all calls.. Then choose show my number option… then hide :)

Ahmad try to clean the keyboard using the brush that we use to clean the computer's keyboard... and if it didn't work out than am really sorry but it means that there is something worng with the keyboard... and you have to visit Samsung Store :)

For as far as I know no one was successful with the ActivSync not because the phone just can’t do it… but in my own opinion this option is not an easy one to use… and for me as I said many times I have never used it in any phone and I’m trying to find the best way on the internet to use Activsync to post it here but in the previous post… a user name Zs1otb said as a reply to you (if I guess): “Yes I have set up the Exchange Activsync with success. I used the intermediary website nuevasync.com as the vehicle between the B5310 and Google Mail's Contacts. I suggest you go to this website and create an account. The set up the Exchange Actvisync on the B5310 using the parameters of Nuevasync.com”
Try his way… maybe it will work out… and if it didn’t work out then please tell me :)

You said that you tried to update the software to solve the problem… well honestly I doubt that it will do any help… but since we took that road then let’s try it to the end
Plan (A)… there is nowadays a kit that contains a liquid, brush and a wipe to clean the computer…. Do you know it… if so then buy one and use the brush only to clean the speaker… maybe it contains dust or something… if this fails then
Plan (B)… try again to update the software… maybe it will do something this time… if then fails then
Plan (C)… try to hard reset your phone but going to menu… settings… scroll down to reset setting… select all then reset… OR… you can use this code to hard reset t your phone… *2767*3855#
But BE CAREFUL you must backup everything you save on your mobile memory because you will lose it when you reset your phone

cLowie, 17 Aug 2010hahaha your right sis jane haha its ok to convert rather su... moreA 1GB movie cLowie?!?!? Are you going to use most of the memory card space for a movie?!?!? Shrink it :D:D:D Joking :D:D well I spent a day and a half searching for a 1GB movie on my laptop and my husband's laptop but I couldn't find any... and the largest movie was 700MB :)
So I tried to convert it using several of programs to mp4 or 3gp but it always fails to work on Corby Pro so in the end I decided to use the video converter option inside Kies program... and guess what... this is the best program to use...
inside the video converter you can convert the video to a video that's compatible to work on mobile phone or convert it to Mp3, a desktop and a digital TV... of course I choose a mobile phone then I choose the phone model (cause you can connect and access 4 phones in the same time in Kies) and then Kies automatically choose the best file format for the phone... then convert without asking about the fps bitrates and resolution stuff... and it also shrink the 700MB movie to 264MB so it will shrink the 1GB movie and it will not be heavy on Corby Pro :)... but it's a little bit slow.. it took 15minutes to convert the 700MB so it will be better to start converting the movies before you go to sleep and you do not need to connect the phone to convert the movie... just convert it and then transfer it to you mobile...
So I STRONGLY recommend the VIDEO CONVERTER inside KIES :)
About the messages... you can copy or save the messages on the laptop/computer but you cannot open it as a text... you can only open via Kies... :) :)

I am unable to open videos in you tube and download songs from websites like songs.pk and others. And even websites with images are not opening. I am using opera mini browser.Did someone face the same problem and got it solved?
