Hi all,
does any of you know (and can share here) a step-by-step recipe to load/install additional apps to this cell phone, the GT-B5702? Answer here or at mazudan-at-iit-edu would be greatly appreciated.
I simply don't see, how it can be done. No jar file can be run from the folders, the "New PC Studio 1.2.0" has no feature to install apps as far as I can see. Below I read that .jar and .jad files are both needed (although the latter is generally not supplied in web downloads), but even if I had them I have no idea, what to do with them. Can anyone help please?

I created a "Night" profile, recorded a clip of 2 sec of silence and chose this clip to be the sound of all incoming calls and SMS of that "Night" profile. At the same time I added to the Family Group all the numbers I want to answer while on "Night" profile and chose an existent melody for this group. So, whenever the phone is on "Night" profile, only calls and SMS coming from contacts of this Family group will produce any sound or vibration :)

Calling all experts on Samsung Phones....
Can anyone HELP with Samsung's "secret codes" or any other low-level way to program the Samsung B5702 and change the following parameters...?
-Change the current limit of the 15 frames of GIF files on the phone's Main Screen. Currently the phone's Main Screen will only play a maximum of 15 frames of any GIF file that has been chosen as a Wallpaper. This means that GIF files with more than 15 frames will be interrupted and will not be completely displayed.
-Change the intensity of the network's Blue LEDs (At night these are too bright...)
-Change the blink frequency of the network's Blue LEDs.

With the B5702 and under APPLICATION ASETTINGS, you can:
-Create an AUTO REJECT list of individual unwanted calls or activate rejection of unknown calls.
-Block individual numbers from receiving SMSs and MMSs.
AS far as I can make out, you cannot creat a personilized PHONE PROFILE with scheduled options, as you described...

Does anyone know how to filter incoming calls in this phone, so that during a certain period (ex: during night)only incoming calls and SMS from "authorized" contacts produce vibration and/or sound, all the others producing no sound or vibration at all?

Hi! Does anyone know how to change search mode through phonebook? When I press Phonebook and start searching contacts, it will only show first letters of first names (or last names if you define it), but never both. I know that I can enter the phonebook->options->search->name, but is there a way to do a generalized search right from the beginning?

Using on AT&T and T-Mobile in USA with no complaints, except that voice mail alerts from both systems are obscured by the "locked" banner on the bottom of the screen. To see if I've missed any calls, or have waiting voice mails, I must unlock the phone. Any way around this?

I have this phone for 8 months and absolutely love it.
Very strong build, feels pretty solid and even survived an inmersion.
No complains at all, I would love to have a version with HSDPA.

*#4777*8665# GPSR Tool
#*3888# BLUETOOTH Test mode
*#7465625# Check the locks
*#0673# MP3 test mode
*#0842# Vibration Test
*#52828378# Java test menu
*#0206*8378# Test mode
But be VERY CAREFULL when trying these codes and USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!! You may change your phone´s default behavior unexpectedly, or probably brick your phone...
I have tried the *#0206*8378# Test Mode, but have not changed any of the displayed values. There is an option for H/W test --> AUDIO SETTINGS, where you can see the default audio values. However, there are many acronyms and abbreviations for the displayed values which are not easy to decipher...
Please understand that I am not a Samsung technician and will not be able to help you. So USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

And, even if you have both, they may not work for this mobile phone.. indeed some applications do not work on this phone. However, you should be able to find on the internet compatible versions for almost all the java applications.
Symbian software is not supported on this phone.
I do not have any experience in sending business card with a mobile phone.. and in truth I don't understand what you mean.. I am sorry.

hey im not able to download any software from the net into the phone thru the cable.......whether its java based( as for samsung) or symbian.....the phone doesnt accept any kinda software.....it doesnt run the application....especially dictionary n stuff......2ndly im not able to send business cards....its simply sends an empty message without the contact info acttahed.....and im not able to retrieve business cards....can any1 help?

This phone has been phase out. No shop is selling in the SEA region because of some untold "reason". Even you manage to get it, nobody is able to repair or fixed anything. Just let it go.
