twilightd1112, 30 Sep 2009Thank you Filipe, do you maybe know if i can minimise eBudd... moreI tried eBuddy. It runs fine, but there are no minimize option. You have it on the SE because it's user interface is better.

However, you can run eBuddy in the browser (http://m.ebuddy.com) and, in this way, you can receive calls (you cannot call) and you can read and send SMS's (just SMS's) without closing the browser. Again, the bad thing is, you cannot close the slide or you'll shutdown the browser.

Samsung's UI needs heavy updates...

I have bought a B5702. Is there any chance to associate one SIM to one contact, instead of using default SIM?

Yes I know that. I was saying that after the phone rings, and the screen goes off, it shows no notification (neither by the blue leds). That's weird for me because I'm used to just look at the screen without needing to slide it.

iled, 02 Oct 2009I forget to post one question: Is there any way to know ... moreWell, the moment you receive a call or SMS the screen is up, but only for a few seconds. Then it's off and when you slide it up, it should show you that you've had missing call(s) and/or SMS in your inbox.

I forget to post one question:

Is there any way to know if I have received any call or message, while the phone is in standby mode? The screen goes completely off, and shows no information... that's weird for me :/

            Many thanks

              Hi again!

Thank you so much Filipe (sorry my misspelling in the previous post) and Sam for replying.

About the time it takes to light up: yes, it's one full second. If it's fast for Sam, I think maybe I should go to the store and ask for a replacement. I tried with all the default themes, so it's not theme related. However, I can't think of other actions that are 'heavy' for the CPU and compare with you.

Regarding the volume: I know about increasing volume on mp3's. But I'm not into doing that. I think I should be able to pick one default ringtone and use it aswell.

              Best regards

Anonymous, 02 Oct 2009Filipe, I have tried what you asked for a week now and what... moreThe 'mystery of the vanishing speed dial' seems to be consensus. Right now my mobile shows the problem I described. I press speed dial 4, it shows the right contact name and the right icon associated to the number (mobile, personal) but the number it's actually being called is his home number, which has the home icon. I can see that in the call list. That is sooo much strange that happens to me but not to you. Perhaps you didn't change the phonebook / call log much?

But, in my opinion it is not so low that it is "badly" low... maybe some feed back from others, too?

As for the slider, I think you might have an issue as my phones UI appears instantly when opening the slide. All shortcuts works as efficiently, as well.

Not being a smart phone aside, I think it is a fantastic phone for what it is!

No big deal, because as soon as you slide it open you can already start typing, using the menu button or browsing contacts. These tasks will be performed even if the screen light is not on yet.

About ring volume, mine is not low at all. Specially after I put some cool mp3 ringtones into B5702. There are programs made to deal with mp3 volume, like MP3Gain. Google is your friend.

                          Hi!

I've been reading this topic and it helped me even before I bought the phone. Many thanks to all, special to Felipe and Sam! :)

I got it today and so far I'm not convinced yet that I'll keep it... There are a few things that I find very annoying:

                          1. The volume of the ring tone is very low! Even if I set it up to level 7 (max). And I'm not comparing with those phones with a column (like SE's). I had a Samsung D500 and it was much higher (without the usb speaker).

                          2. It's kinda slow. Example: when the slide is closed and I open it, it takes 1 second to the screen change and light up.

And other little things that I already knew from my D500 which Samsung didn't changed.

I think I'm somewhat disappointed. The only thing I like very much on this phone is the dual sim feature, and that's why I bought it, as the best dual sim around here.

Please, tell me if those two aspects are common or if my phone needs replacement. I'll keep it for 2 weeks and I hope I learn to like it!

Tariq, I agree with you. I tried both models. Now I am using B5702 with no problem. Its much better. Also the camera is better I guess.

Filipe, 30 Sep 2009Sure, you can do that.Thank you Filipe, do you maybe know if i can minimise eBuddy, like put it in background, as Sam said i know its not smartphone but my Sony Ericsson's can do that even tho they are not smartphones and i think that eBuddy have that minimise function anyways if im right... Have you ever worked with that, do you maybe know if thats possible?

Thanks for your help. The VIVO SIM was supplyied by my company, so I can work as a customer help desk during my free time :( I never turn off the phone. Eventually I left work SIM card at home on my vacations. that is why I didn't notice the issue you have with our "local" version. I've allways hated this policy of cell operators that lock hardware features of the phones, and I do all my efforts to unlock them even if I'm not going to use it. This phone is perfect for my day by day use, but it isn't a smartphone. That is why I also purchased the DX900 It also support two SIMs and with it I can use 3G internet, VOIP and email when traveling.

compared to D880 i think the voice quality of both sim cards are much much better.
i used to have problems with sim2 in my D880 and heard its a common problem.
the voice was too low for sim2 even sim 1 was not loud enough for my test.

its all sorted out with my B5702.
anyone had the same problem and felt the differences between the two phones?

i like the screen too and the material of this phone. yet its a bit heavy but its better thank carrying 2 phones.

                                  have a nice day all

The hardware version of my european B5702 is "MP 0.500", the TFS Checksum is 0x60316512, the other info is too big to copy and post here. What is it exactly that you're after, Andre? About your last question, the problem is, if you have Vivo as your most used line, then that's just fine to have it as primary by default. But if like me you use Vivo as secondary line (make fewer calls) then that's a bummer because whenever you turn your phone off and back on, you must remember to put it back to use the secondary line, which you use the most. And sometimes you'll forget to do that, that's unfortunate but normal.

I use Oi most of the time in my B5702 so I'm used to just get the phone, dial (or get a number from call log / phonebook) then press the call button; only occasionally I use Vivo to make calls - these are directed only to other Vivo lines. Perhaps not everyone will agree with me here, but I simply don't like it when the company could have made both slots quadband as they have in other markets, but in our country it didn't.
