DO NOT reset or master clear your phone every time bcause solution is extra easy!!
Widows mobile has a software bug, in this folder on your phone: My device/Application Data/Volatile you probably have 1000 temporary opened folder for cache!!! Problem is this folders should be deleted by system when no longer they are in use, but they are not! Thats why wmplayer doesnt work.
So, you should do next: With some file explorer go to My device/Application Data/Volatile and DELETE all 1000 folders (by marking them all, not one by one, offcourse). After that turn off your phone and turn on, and everything will work again!!
Trust me, i had the same problem, i was going crazy bcause i had to hard reset phone few times, and lose all my data, apps and contacts, untill i found this solution. Thats why i hope everyone with this problem will read this.

if the windows media player and the ringtones are not funtioning or not giving any sounds what you have to do is go to the settings then security then master clear then type the password 0000 four zero. i figure it out of my self and its correct. then yes to formating your phone.all data in it will be deleted then yes to all then the phone will self rebooting then all the program will be back to normal thats how!.......... (0_0) my phone was bought in saudi arabia
