The official release in the Netherlands was set for the 23th, moved up to the 30th... And if you are not going for the Omnia Pro and rather go for an HTC, there are 3 things you could do. HTC Diamond2 (same price-class), HTC Touch HD (basically the same as Diamond2 but with a larger screen) or all the way with the HTC Pro 2. (Or wait for a new model to be released.)
Anyway, this is definitely going to be the phone of my choice for the next year.

TO PREVIOUS POSTER:
Talk time will be great, don't worry about it.
1500 mAh with only 3.5 screan will get you minimum
5 hours of talk time, unless you use the bluetooth
crap! Plus remember this is GSM not crappy CDMA network that will drain even 1500 mAh quickly.

Iphone is just an overpriced junk comparing to Sony Xperias models and Samsung Omnia PRO!
PROS:
-Nice large size!
-3.5 Headphone jack!
-1500 mAh Battery!
-Music + Full Video Player
-Normal Physical Qwerty Keyboard!
DIGITAL Qwerty keyboards like on Nokia 5800 , Iphone, and other touch phones without normal physical keyboard are inconvinient and childish.
I'm happy that normal QWERTY on Cell. Phones becomes popular!

Play.com are pre-ordering it now with a release date of 07/10/2009 unlocked/sim free for £399.99

For all of you thinking the Xperia2 is some kind of Holy Grail probably haven't used the original Xperia.
Looks lovely, and is good on paper, but the smaller screen with high resolution made navigation a bit tricky, panels are crap, and the phone had a design flaw where cracks would appear in the casing just from normal use. Really bad for such an expensive phone. The Xperia2 doesn't seem to be particualrily different from the first, 0.2" bigger screen (ho-hum) and the same cpu/RAM, meaning it will be just as sluggish as the first.
I am glad to have sold my Xperia and got my Touch Pro2, even though I was waiting for the OmniaPro (LED screen, 3.5mm jack, video acceleration and 800mhz cpu being better than the Touch Pro2), but the delays were getting silly, and I am still very happy with my HTC.
