Another question... one of the most drawback of D780 is that the screen is barely usable outdoors in daylight ... is this is the same situation with B7722 or Samsung corrected it?

Gman, 01 Sep 2010Correction to AG's answer. The phone has a normal keypad a... moreThank you Gman and Anonymous for your reply, I found a review on youtube -but in Russian- that helped as well in showing the QWERTY feature. But I have another question I'm using now Samsung D780 which I like very much and is extremely practical, however I need texting, social networking -mainly IM using MSN-, document viewing -pdf- & 3G capabilities. Can this phone handle all this and it's touch screen will still be responsive under heavy using pressure. Thank you

Correction to AG's answer. The phone has a normal keypad as anonymous said and the keys are very big so you can type easily. And AG you can use the multi-tap where you have to press the key several times or on the bottom left you can activate the T9 text which is the predictive text. The surprise it, in correction to anonymous, while you are typing a message, if you turn the phone sideways, in landscape, the keyboard will switch to a full QWERTY keyboard!!:) The phone also carries 2000 contacts, not 1000 as the specs say on this website.

AG, 01 Sep 2010Is the virtual Keyboard QWERTY or standard, in other words ... moreAG, the virtual keyboard is not QWERTY but it is convenient for a single hand user and the phone has the vibrate function everytime you touch the keypad so it is very convenient. you seldom miss the keys as the keys are very large.

Is the virtual Keyboard QWERTY or standard, in other words when you are typing sms or sending email you get full keyboard or have to click up to 3 times to get the letter you need?

Justin, i bought mine at Pertama for 1089 (offer- hariraya price), and with a 4Gb memory card the price is 1210. I think it is worth it.
Ele, yes FB is working well, except that the preloaded version doesnt show the notifications. you just have to google and go to the FB site and download the mobile FB, where you have all the latest features.

I just bought this phone for about 5 days and initially i rate it 60/100 but later as i get used to it, i have increased it to 70/100. the plus point for this smartphone is of course the dual sim where you can switch if you have data simcard for internet access and the other for making and receiving calls. the you tube connection was great, much better than my previous O2 phone, where they utilise Vtap software to play you tube videos. Yes, both sims are active, if i browse on the internet i can still receive call from the other sim. However to make a call there is a switch button to change to the other sim without restarting the phone. sometimes i forgot to press the switch button but it is no big deal as you get a message saying 'forbidden'....

Is it really dual standby? I mean: can you receive calls on both SIMs without switching anything?

I am writing to ask if anyone has a response about the comment Tish made below on 28/8. In which it claims it does not work in the US. Has anyone experiences any problems with roaming? And is the Quad band really on both sims? I am planning to buy this phone within 3 days, so would appreciate any feedback. Tish, one built in antenna should not affect the problem you are mentioning...correct me if I am wrong.

I purchased this phone in Bangkok at a store called MBK, This is the phone I had been waiting for a long long time, but the wait was worth it. I originally intended to buy a Acer DX900, but was put off by the many negative comments. As a international traveller this Samsung GT-B7722 is by far the best phone to have. 3G,3.5G support in sim1 and it is so easy to switch between the sims to make that cheaper call or sms. The touch screen is really responsive and accurate and is brightly lit. Call quality is outstanding as well. I give the phone a 5 out of 5 for what you get in this well priced package. I am not disappointed on my purchase and If you are reading this comment, then hopefully I have help in your decision to purchase. Good Luck Al

I bought this phone to use in the United States. It does not work in the U.S. Samsung has falsely advertised this model as for their Quad dual sim use. It only has one built in antena so it will NOT work on a Dual setting for both Sim cards at the same time. Very disappointed. There B5702 model works as advertised. I don't know why they made this different.

Released in Malaysia at RM1,200.00 without Memory Card. Micro SD 8G cost RM85 if you buy together with phone at the same time. Wonder how much it is in Singapore. Made my down payment and Im waiting for to have the unit end of the month. Guess this phone will work out right if you are currently using 2- separate normal phones w/o Wi-fi or 3G. Yet to be seen on performance but worth to consolidate 2 SIMS in one smartphone which is less handful, and yes, cutting energy consumption too (even a little bit compared to have 2 separate h/p units)
