1st of all i would like to say that this mobile phone based website is the best website ever-found my self while, i have browsed so many URLs for getting some latest informations about the Cell Phones but this is a most comprehensive and a upto-dated Web-site that is why I have become a fan & a lover of this precious Web-site. Thanx GSMARENA!...
The matter about the Samsung SGH-C230 mobile phone (which is not a bad selection) is that, there is a need of some improvements like as below :
• There should be a more power full battery for a lengthy & long drive entertainment.
• A need for an icon on the top of Screen for showing the connectivity with FM-tuner.
• There is no keypad lock time is given ( I mean I can not fix my self a appropriate time for auto-keypad locking system) which I am missing a lot.
• The full volume of Ring Tones of this gadget is very very low although the earlier Mobile Phone of this series (Samsung C100) has a louder Volume of ring tones.
• This model takes a long time for keypad lock as compare to Samsung other models.
• The absence of Screen savers system is really makes me surprise.
• The default games of this Mobile set are not very attractive & entertaining, so there is a need of a replacement.
Any-how if the Manufacturer of such device could improve & add the above mentioned points and also expand some extra facilities like “Cover changing, Memory card slot, Good quality Camera, A minimal price” then they can do a great business with that Mobile Phone Model.

My phone is two days old(At 03/10/2005) and i am on a roll.The qualities i was looking for were clarity,style,class and a phone oozing real music.I got all of them wrapped in Samsung C230.Thank you.

when typing in text messages the word does not go to the next line if does not fit in but splits word in two eg if i want to type ball i get ba on one line and ll on the next. do i need to adjust setting?

hi,
Some of u have complained bout the battery backup... Actually battery backup greatly depents on the signal strength u receive.. if the serving tower is in a distant place u receive only a small signal and the mobile phone requires a very high power to stay connected draining the battery very quickly, this is often missinderpretted as poor battery backup... but if u go to a place wer the signal is high enough... u will get the aproximate talktime as well as standby time shown in the specification sheet.. this is a fact for not only C230 but all the mobile phones in this world, believe me this is an Electronics Engineer speaking. -regards.

Hello, have someone tryed to use Samsung C230's GPRS as internet provider to the PC through the PC cable? I want to know if it is possible. Sorry for my mistakes, I don't speak English in my country, so it's quite difficult to me to writel in this language. Please tell me if it is possible to use phone's GPRS as internet and use it in my computer?

I bought this phone recently and had the same problem of not being able to transfer the images or phone numbers despite getting IR connectivity with my laptop. I went to the service centre where I was provided with a Easy GPRS software version 2.1 which solved all the problem and worked well. I think Samsung should consider providing a CD with this software loaded when buying the phone or provide the right software in its site. I wasted time downloading the PC Studio software twice which did not work.

Samsug.com says that this phone has WAP 2.0, but this site says WAP 1.2.1 Could anybody tell me what version is in reality?

dear all,
if u can help me plz send to me, i wanna download tones to my mobile through IR, and i observed that the lifetime of battary doesn't exceed 2 days only. is it a problem??? plz. inform me about the battery life time...

it's really fantastic mobile,with vivid display&resolution.but the ir port is not so user friendly.as it is difficlt to connect with nokia&sony ericsson.

Hi guys, i got this phone for 5100 bucks in bangalore 2 weeks before. The Radio quality is too awesome, but the reception while moving is not upto mark. The Display is excellent. But i have a problem, the phone never goes back from screensaver to normalcy.
So i have to restart the phone. Please help in this regard

Hi friends,
Yesterday I bought this phone C230 yesterday (September 20, 2005).
First of all, i have to give credits to u guys because i have selected this phone after reading your reviews posted here. thanks for that. It is a beautiful phone indeed. the plus points are it has great display wtih UFB and 65K colors.
I bought it mainly keeping inmind 2 things, the display and radio. In that, I was successful. The radio quality is excelent. The only thing is that we have to attach earphones as it serves as antenna for the radio adn we have to adjust the wires properly. then only we will get good qulaity and sound. But the sound clarity is great.
I checked out other phones offering the qualities i wanted for example nokia 6030, but its display is not that good and the radio qulaity is also mono. Then i decided this.
Anybody wants to have good color (65K) display wtih FM radio go for Samsung c230. This is my personal opinion.

It's a good phone with its price. It has a elegant shape and battery is good but there are some problems.
1. You can't copy your all phone numbers from SIM card to phone memory in one step. You have to copy them individually.
2. Phone sound isn't turned off complately.
3. Adding word to T9 library is not easy.
4. The first day of calendar is Sunday and it's not changed. There is no option for changing the day.
5. Some process are too slow. For example: button lock, deleting SMS
6. Radio voice is not hear from speaker without earphone.

to connect via IR you have to go to pc studio then file and go to setup and empty the check box then manually select the IR port then you can stablish the connection but only you can download the sms not the phonebook i tried alot but phone book not working may be some problem with the software

Conecting C230 to PC:
Use EasyGPRS cable (model PCB093LBE; about $US 14.5 -loose pack). For the software, use EasyGPRS Ver 2.1.8. It can be downloaded at:
