Samsung confirms Galaxy Note8 in quarterly financial report

Peter, 27 April 2017

In about as many words Samsung reaffirmed its commitment to launch the Galaxy Note8 later this year. The company warns of tougher competition ahead, so another flagship launch would help maintain profitability.

Against this backdrop, the company will strive to maintain profitability through robust sales of the Galaxy S8 and S8+ and the launch of a new flagship smartphone in the second half.

Samsung will strive to maintain profitability in its mid-range and low-end phone segments too, but mentions that the lineup will be streamlined (we do agree that the the A, C, E, J, On series could use a little trimming).
