Well,... i'm not really making a comment on this phone - however; i do want to ask people who have purchased this model. So far, it hasn't failed to impress me - the question is: is this phone better then the Sony Ericcson K700i/S700i? I've done my research however, it's still tossing up within my mind. Also, could there possibly be a better phone other then the D500 that can match up to it and aqquire it's flaws?

D500+CINGULAR = BAD WAP COMBO? I'm looking into getting the D500, and during my search, I saw many posts concerning the inability for the D500 to connect to wap on the cingular network. Anyone here who have the D500 were able to get the wap setting working?

I have had this phone for 3 weeks now and i think it is still the best phone on the market. I use this phone with my laptop computer and send my photos via infra red. I don't have any complaints about this phone. My battery lasts me about 5 days. For all you other people out there that are trying to decide to but it or not i say it is worth it to buy one of theses.

I've just bought a d500, been using it for a bout 2 weeks now. its an impressive phone, for its size with the 1.3 mp cam and the 100mb internal memory..but it has got some flaws:
                -Cant minimize the mp3 player
-Cant set the phone on vibrate with the ring tone
                -Cant change msg tone
-Themes/skins need to be d/lable from the net
-Needs a radio (am i asking too much?)
-Wallpapers need to be able to be streched to fit the wallpaper size, the e800 can..why cant the d500?
-Needs to make a sound in the handsfree when there is a incoming call, rather than just stoping the music
-If a call is answered while a mp3 is playing i wished it would continue on..rather then hving to press and play it from the start again.
                -cant fast-forward threw a song
-needs a mute button...to mute the ringtone
                -and yeah...

I had the e700 & thought I'd try this. Noticed it has the same problem as e700 in that when you go on to a 2nd,3rd page of text it sometimes says you've got 2 or 3 characters left, type another character and you have went on to next page. And on the next page it varies from starting at 160 characters to 144 or something. Not a big problem but annoying if you think you've got just enough spoces on your text and you haven't. I think it will annoy you if you're a texter. I've noticed the battery isn't too great either. Only getting about 2 days out of it & that's not with using it much. Noticed another thing that it randomly goes off the T9 function when starting/replying to a text. Also, I personally think that the ridge below the screen gets in the way of me using the navigation button and that when you slide it up, the bottom part gets in the way of pressing buttons 1-3. I wouldn't say I have large thumbs/fingers. Generally I found it an awkward phone to physically use and I thought that it wasn't too clever the way it done things i.e. takes a good few steps to get reply to a text and send it or poor navigation etc. Altho the SE k700 has a poor battery life too, I thought it was a much better user friendly phone with more going for it. The texting facility is a dream on it (you can go back and change to correct word on T9 without having to delete any characters by selecting it and scrolling).

Groundbreaking, stylish and slides. this is one hell of a phone. yes, i know, phones should'nt be this smart but hey samsung did it. the only thing lacking in this almost perfect phone is memory expandability. they say its equiped with a generous amount of memory but once you've loaded mp3's and photos then you've got to budget the use of memory. this black thing has captured my heart. i've always been a fan of slider phones but by far this is the best when it comes to features and design. i wish my fairy god mother will raed this so she can give me one... hehehe

                                  TO THE SAME GUY AGAIN:

YES, and another thing! What's really positive with the E720 is that its RECORDING quality is much better but pictures worse. PLUS a funny thing is that you can use a video as a background =D That's amazing!

TO THE GUY WHO WAS WONDERING WHICH SAMSUNG TO BUY!
I am in the same position as you =P I'm struggeling with that question too.

Both are HOTT! BUT, D500 have 1,3 mpix camera, while E720 has a 1,0 mpix camera. ALSO the E720 lacks in IrDa, which is not good, because someday you'll meet someone and want to transfer something via IrDa, but it wont work because the guy wont have bluetooth and you wont have IrDa.

As the matter of fact D500 is better. And I think I might be going with the D500
