This is a great looking phone but it doesn't have voice dialling which you would expect at that price.
Also, when texting it always defaults to multitapping every time you go to write an sms. You have to select T9 (predictive) before you can start every time - what a pain. The user should be able to select either and the phone should stay on it.
I checked with Samsung and they said that most of their phones do default to T9 but this one doesn't. I asked if there might be a software update coming out to fix it and was told there was nothing planned in the future for this partcular phone.

this fone is the lik u cnt beat the fone but i am worried about it getting scratched and the screen breaking is there n e way of preventing this from happening, and does the screen really go off for no reason

when you buy a d500 you have 2 songs allready in the phone but i have deleted them by acsident so can anyone please please tell me them 2 songs i will be very greatfull thanks

transfer mp3's &/or images to d phone? ez. install PC Studio 2.0 that, CD should've come with the pack (otherwise, download from Samsung site) and use the USB that comes with it, too. PC won't display d phone on taskbar like it does a flash memory though. But if PC Studio's installed, just use the File Manager (under Tools) on it and transfering mp3's a breeze.

This mobile is the best mobil ever.....
It has very good functions and a good camera it has alot of memory where to put things and songs for yuor mp3....Samsung are better then Nokia...

I got Samsung d500 but i dont know how to transfer mp3 and videos from pc into the phone through USB, because i didnt get any USB with the phone .can i try with the USB s tht i hav? i gueess many ppl posted this quedtion but no one replied..Please let us know if anyone knows how to do it ..thanks

i am really happy that i got that sumsung D500 and it has helped me a lot but i dont know how to download from mp3 to my phone so if anyone can help me out.can i use the phone to browse internet??but i think motorolla V3 is the best of all phones.

I love it, its the best phone ever. Has all I need. Even the browser capabilities are top notch! Just be careful not to scratch the led, its sensible and big enough for one to damage it. Ive taken so many pictures, its amazin. Thanks Samsung

i just bought the d500. is there a specific software needed to transfer mp3s to the phone? or would my computer be able to recognize the phone via usb automatically?

Help!! My phone has worked perfectly for the last year. Now when i switch it on, the screen stays completely blank.

yes am happy with my d500, would be happier though if i could use the melodies for alarm and as message tones...sadly, d500 has tones for those preset - 6 to choose from for short msgs and 5 for alarm tones :( guess one can't really win them all. and really, for the most part, it's a very very good phone.

was initially hesitant to switch from nokia, but aftr reading posts, samsungd500 seems better n much bigger memory. besides, i got tired of waiting for nokia 6111. now am very happy with my d500. it's nice and its photos are really sharp. the speaker is amazing, no loss of audio quality even if on loudest level.
yes, recorded msgs can be used as ringtones, but one has to convert it first from .amr file to .mmf - one good converter is at yamaha.com. first record on ur phone, use the pc studio file manager (comes in d box) to upload fm phone to ur pc then convert then download again to ur phone.

my D500 always freezes & last night i dropped it & the screen is all disorientated?
is it really that sensitive?did i break it ccompletely???? because i heard LCD's are eexpensive to replace?

this phone is amazing. it looks good, works good and is the best phone out there at the mo. the d600 is ugly and is huge compared to this one. all i can say is get this one. only problem is that you caanot hide music when your playing it so you can open another application whilst you listen to music.

Whenever i connect my D500 with the usb interface cable, i can't seem to interface my phone with the computer. please tell me how to interface my d500 with the computer, so that different audio and video clips can be downloaded.

samsung is definately better than nokia...nokia has this sort of great cheap look
