    HI Karen.
I love the way you told to everybody that you bought the USB from ebay and you can transfer up to 18 songs. I really love that way, can you please tell me and help me how to do this. Thanks

Dave you obviously don't know anything about phones. My last phone was the Siemens SL65 and i hated it so much I played footy with it where as the Samsung D500 is one of the best phones i have ever owned. Its slide feature is far more superior to the SL65 and its capabilities exceed the SL65 by along way.

I bought a D500 last week. I did have a samsung p510, which I was happy with, but I did want an mp3 player phone. I ended up buying a usb cable from ebay, and have stored upto 18 songs on my phone. I love the way I can save my images from my pc to my phone as wallpaper. The camera quality isn't much different from my p510. Overall I love the phone. I havent had any probs with it at all, but I have only had it for a week.

The worst phone I have ever purchased or tested. The curve for text messages is terrible, the whole text message function is unsuitable, its top heavy, you cannot save birthdays - the list goes on. A complete waste of money in my opinion - hence sold on within a few weeks!

i've had this phone for about 4 months or so, and i've had no problem with it. the slide still has that great springing action, unlike the e368 (a friend of mine has it and you have to force the slide up). the sound quality isn't THE best, but it's not bad, considering it's coming from a phone. also, for those of you people that your usb cable doesnt work (when you want to upload things to your computer to your phone, or vice versa) you can go purchase a bluetooth device for your computer. for this d500, i'm able to fit about 18 songs..i'd probably be able to fit 20 if i didn't have anything but songs on the phone.

the camera is great, i love how it is hidden, so that the lens won't get scratched/dirty as easily as other phones like the d600 or e638. though i bought this phone for about 500$ canadian, it is a bit overpriced but still worth most of the money. one bad thing about this phone is the battery life - if you are going to buy this phone, i suggest getting an extra battery & desk charger. and when you're going out, keep that extra battery with you (if you're like me and use the mp3 and camera/video functions quite a bit, it will drain the battery). the only other thing that disappoints me is that you can't set pictures as your screensaver..instead, it's just a clock. i do although like how you can set mp3 ringtones for incoming calls. the camera functions are awesome, the blackand white and emboss, etc. the zoom is also good, but if you load the picture onto the computer and they're enlarged, the photo quality isn't that great (especially WITH zoom). if you have the right lighting, the picture will turn out great. video is okay, panning is pretty good, not too blurry. i like the text messaging setup..its pretty cool. the preset ringers suck...upload your own mp3 songs. overall, this phone is great. i'm glad i bought this phone.

Mike to be perfectly truthful, I have the D500 and am slightly disapointed with the sound quality on the earpiece for the simple reason that I've also got the Nokia N-GAGE & the quality on there is 10 times better. But if I hadn't known better I'd say D500 sound quality was not bad.

Hey Dave you obviously dont know anything about mobile phones, how could you even dare to say that Sagem MYZ5 is better than D500
I'll just say 2 thing MEGAPIXEL vs VGA & MEMORY 96MB Beat that.

"the the phone it is switching off and on between use of 30 seconds"

I've seen that my mom's D500 has an auto-power option. Perhaps your phone's set to go off after some idle time.

                                SOUND QUALITY?
HOW IS THE SOUND QUALITY? (of ear piece and of MP3 player)

Does anyone who owns this phone can tell me:
Does this phone has a bad sound quality like all American Samsungs do? Does this European model with a new slider design has a better sound quality than horrible american flip models?

Not that good really. After a month use it keeps crashing. Very poor software compared to Nokia. Very disappointed!

This is a good phone but Sagem MYZ-55 is much better and feels much better in the hand. Even Siemens SL65 is better in look and feel. I would put Sagem MYZ-55 first and then SL65 and then D500. Nokia 6111 will beat them all as soon as it is out!

I bought this phone yesterday it worked fine for a while but ever since I am having serious problem nwith the the phone it is switching off and on between use of 30 seconds to 2 minutes I find it very frustrating and am really mad that I feel like throwing the phone out of window. If any of you have experienced the same problem please send me an email and what measure did you take to solve the problem. I shall be taking this phone back to the store where I purchased it and demand a full refund.
