Your very welcome christine =)
As for some of the problems posted above: Samsung phones usually or at least the ones I've used, don't allow vibrate and ring tone at the same time. It usually vibrates first (about 4-5 times) then it starts playing whatever ring tone you have it set to.
My phone doesn't remain lit when charging. Maybe you guys can turn off the back light in the settings.

regarding the battery life, i once had a problem with the battery. goes from full to empty in 2 days. found it weird, then i got a new battery from the service centre, and now my fone can last 5 days, with normal usage, without listening to mp3. oh, i'm changing this fone, cuz i'm fed up with the ringtone, cant hear it even when it's in my pocket!! hence, vibration has to be on, (for me), which saps battery life! so for me, BYE!! to this d520.

I think this phone is ok. Really lacks features like being able to call a person on their alternate number. I don't want to view the record, I should just be able to press right to dial. Also the phone doesn't allow you to ring and vibrate at the same time! You can't even customize the message tone. And why does the lcd stay lit during charging?

I just bought the phone today and I seem to like it very well. All phones pretty much have the same damn functions and skins. At least this phone offers new text msg tones. About the keypad noise you guys are talking about, I think it will always remain on unless you change the dialing display to normal font type. Then you will be able to mute the keypad or change it to something else. Im not sure if the d520 is the same since here in HK, it's called d528.
Great phone so far....way better than my old motorola razorv3. But I still miss my d500...it broke a couple months ago and I also brought it back to HK to fix...hope it revives itself.

I think this fone is ok but not all that. I bought a Nokia 6280 las week and that is a must have. My sis' bought the D520 and trust me it is not as good as you may think. Check out the Samsung E900. ...Classy!!!

Anyone find annoying on the short-lived battery? I fully charged my phone overnight before first use. But, after I talked on the phone for < 30min, took a few pic ( < 5), did not play mp3, and left it on (stand-by) for 2-3 days ( I turned off the phone at night when I sleep), I need to recharge again within 3 days...

I have used this phone for about 4 months now. And I love it so far. It's not as much of a stunner as the LG Chocolate phone, but it's VERY easy to use, and fits right in your hand like a glove. I've used the Motorola V3i, the D500, etc.. but I still think this is awesome. It looks good, feels good, works well :) Would highly reccommend it~~

I purchased the D520 and returned it a few hours later! I have a E350 and the format (skin, ringtones etc) is exactly the same!

i don't get it. why did samsung bother releasing this, the d510 has pretty much everything the d520 has, plus a memory slot even though its a year older. why is this model more expensive?

good enough for me. memory enough for mp3,pictures..etc. had this for a couple of weeks and further comments. no 'profiles' like nokia's phones, only three choice of ring types. But slim and light enough for pockets, very clear screen, dust will not get into the screen unlike nokia's, loud enough with good vibration. I like it!
