to Leanne and other people complaining of failed USB connection with the phone being physically connected via USB cable.
I don't know why this difficulty exists with Samsung phones (btw I think also with Nokia) but this is a very annoying problem when one encounters it having no idea how to tackle it. Nowhere you can find guidance on this explaining how to deal with this, neither does the manual.
Now the solution. Firstly, the sequence of actions should be as follows:
1) Install the PC Studio
2) Install the USB driver
3) Restart the PC
4) Connect the phone to PC and open PC Studio and go to Connection manager and set the USB connection.
For this process to succeed Service Pack 2 must be present with your Windows XP. Also someone has mentioned about the firewall to be disabled, maybe that is also important. But from my experience the first prerequisite looks to be a must.

When i connect my USB cable to the computer and then connect my fone, it comes up with a message in the bottom right-hand corner of the PC studio saying that my fone is not connected even though it is!
Please can someone help me with this !

u get no card supplied with d phone :P u have to buy it seperately
the memory card is extremely small :)

to slick: and if you tell me how one can put any pic (let's say taken with the camera) in Other Files cause I have a feeling you just can't do that. Correct me if I am wrong, I will appreciate that!
Yet I don't know maybe it's possible if transferred from PC through a USB cable, haven't try yet ...But what about just photos taken with the camera ?!

To view pictures full size on your tv you need to put the files in File manager - other files. It then loads up picsel file viewer and there you have full screen pics this also works for pdf,xml and word documents!!!

I have this phone for a month. It's a simple phone no much setting like nokia. Battere is OK for 6 days. But the battere bar is not valid. 2 last bar is empty in a day. A great photos. And great software. I couldnot connect the phone to PC. But it work when restart the PC. I'm usually hibernating PC. My advice for samsung mobile it's better adding many settings on this phone like nokia. So we can do anything we like, change the color dekstop, screen saver and ect. Is there a firmware upgrade???

No, it isn't possible to listen to music and write a message at the same time.
To Duffy.....:
Can you tell me how you are able to see pictures fullscreen ? I know you can with video recordings, but it I think it isn't working with simple pictures.

it is NOT impossible to view pictures in full screen on d600.
you can, when you have opened the image (or video recording) press #1
it will then be viewable/playable in full screen

The samsung D600 is very cool phone, there is some things i am unhappy about like the mp3s you cant liten well SMS. But out of 10 it will be a 8.5 i recomend this phone

had a d600 since October and lost it in a bus last week- the worst think ever!!!!am missing my phone soooooo much and nothing i've seen on the market is as good. I think i'll just get another one- NOTHING BEATS THE D600!!!!!!!!11

i just bought a samsung d600 its version is d600xaeia how can i get the usa wap settings i've tryed the *2767*1927# but it wont work. can anybody help

i have had the samsung d600 for a month now and i love it. i have only few problems with it that i think hamper its funcionability:
1.) no airplane mode - i've tried everything to try and turn the celular functions off so i can just use the mp3 player to no avail.
2.) delayed ringtone - the mp3 ringtones have a slight delay before they are audible. i don't know if the secret menu can be tweaked to fix this problem
3.) no vibrate & ring at the same time - sometimes i have it in my pocket in a busy place and i don't hear it ring. it would be great if it could vibrate at the same time.
4.) no silence button - it says that if i press a certain button it mutes the call, but it only rejects the call even when i change the option to mute the call
5.) no automatic save and send SMS
6.) cannot assign mp3 ringtones to SMS tones and can't change volume of the message tone (unless you use the secret menu option)
7.) no multitasking - you can't listen to the mp3 player while you are text messaging someone or receiving a text message.
if anyone happens to know how to fix any of them, let me know! i would love to add a bit more to the software to this phone, but i have no idea how to program anything. if anyone knows of an update to the software or has any idea on how to contact samsung about adding some of these changes, that would be great! i think these are the only things that really keep it from competing effectively with any of the new walkman phones with sony ericcson.

Hi
Has anyone had problems with the screen cracking on the D600? had mine 2 weeks slid open the phone to look at a txt and the screen was cracked. No I hadn't dropped it or banged it or damaged it in any way. Samsung are refusing to repair it under warranty. e-mail is ianbreakwell@hotmail.co.uk

D600 i THE phone to have from SAMSUNG the 2 best phone i recommand to my freind is the d600 for the 2mp cam and tv out or the nokia 6270 that has good 2mp ,

speaking of ignorance nokia destroys everry other phones on the market take a look at the 6270 or the 6680 samsung has a TV-OUT a nokia phone that has symbian destroys the performance of the d 600 since it cant multitasck PEOPELES that buys nokia phone are making the best choice peopeles the d600 is the only samsung i have and i will ever have it's the best all in one from samsung for canada but nokias like 6230 6270 6682 n80 dount have tv out are way more ambivalent and able to addapt to situations unlike the d600
