gamer_xpr: yes it records in mp4 if you want.
malak yassir: D600 more features, feels more solid(you will know when you hold it), better sound, memory expansion slot; You have to hold the side button to get the phone to show the clock or just slide it open, samsung said its to save battery; Battery is about the same or a little shorter(im assuming its cause of the extra band)
kaz: dont have that phone; nokia has a D600?
khris: i dont use the software much that came with the D600, use a program called mpegable x4live.
daniel: /sigh i just wrote that you cant in my other long post.

is it possible to have the mp3 player on in the background and use other applications at the same time such as messaging without having to stop the music and exit like in the D500???

im using the software that comes with the phone to convert mpg to mp4 or 3gp...im having a problem when converting to a higher video size or pixels because the results are either the video stops playing while sound is still playing or the sound stops playing while video continues on playing...anyone know why????

orangemadness:
If you record videos in CIF (352x288), usually a 1-minute-video = 2MB. So I guess the aggregate length of video recording is about 35 minutes. Whereas, Nokia phones that record in QCIF (144x176) may last more than one hour but the resolution is intolerable. That goes same for SonyEricsson W800i and K750i. I don't care if a mobile phone wields CIF, QCIF, or MMS...what matters here is that does it record in MPG-4 instead of 3GP?

I havent tried recording super long vids but i got 5 minutes before i got bored recording.
Battery life is kinda short. If ur playing mp3's, i can drain the phone in one day. Just using the phone occasionally, i drain it in 2.5 days. If i have bluetooth, mp3, vids, talking on the phone a lot, half a day.
Advantages
-a lot of packed features in a small sleek phone. most of the advantages you can find are on the specifications. One thing i can point out for you is the sound quality, its very debatable ,but i think its great or good enough for me.
-Bluetooth has the A2DP profile for the new headsets that allow you to transfer mp3's to ur bluetooth headset.
-solid build: when you hold it in your hand you will know wat i mean. The rubbery plastic on the back, smooth edges, etc. and a nice form factor.
Disadvantages
-No flight mode: since its a business phone you expect this phone to have it.
-No torch/flashlight: since the lens is on the outside, i expected a short cut key to use the phone as a flashlight. Otherwise they should have kept the camera lens on the inside like the D500
-Short batterylife: might decided to buy another battery. Atleast you can charge the phone by the usb cable they give you. I charge my phone through my laptop when im on the go.
-Lack of macro mode or autofocus: causes blurry pictures especially for pictures up close.
Other disadvantages that dont bother me
-no sms ringtones
-No vibrate and ring at the same time: it has it but I guess people are complaining it doesnt vibrate and ring at the same exact momment. Instead it vibrates first then rings/vibrate.
-Files copy to the phone instead of the memory card directly: Well its faster this way.
-Slow transfer rate between card and phone
-Music player in the back ground
Overall I like this phone a lot. Had it for close to 2 months. Yes i was the lucky one that bought it when it came out for cheap.

To D600 owners:
First of all this is an amazing phone in terms of design and features.
I really want to buy this phone but i am hesitated and a bit confused with all these reviews.I am sure you have tested how long is the video recording, not in a memory card but in the phone's internal memory.I want exactly to know this as i find it an important thing on a phone. Also i would like to know how is the battery life and main advantages and disadvantages of this phone.
Thanks in advance
PS:Sony Ericcson funs don't answer to my questions, only D600 owners.

What are you smoking! Give me a phone that has TV OUT and all the features that this phone has and get back to me. Dont tell me the w800i. It doesnt have stereo speakers, TV OUT, or document viewer.

You need to purchase an adapter..then you can put in your regular headphones (i.e. IPOD). I bought mine on EBay for $10

hello! bought the phone on saturday..two days ago. have wanted a samsung for ages but now having bought it im unsure?battery life is not great, it has few decent ringtones, file manager is confusing..my friend sent me some tones via bluetooth, they have been stored in the 'other files' option but i cant seem to access them..?? but yeah its a dinky little machine with no radio..one of the features i was mostly looking forward too and was told it had it! we'll see how it goes!!
