SAMSUNG!!! HERE OUR CRIES!!! what we really want is...
-ringing profiles
-WAV (truetones) support
-message alert not limited to just 10 preset tones, but customizable via download
-landscape screen viewing capable
-customizable themes and not limited to the preset boring themes
-please!!! use of folders to sort our thousands of media because it's so difficult to navigate all those thousands one-by-one
-please!!! 3G and EDGE please!
unless you guys at Samsung do these, I wouldn't dare buy one of you're phones.

I'm looking for an opinion between the D870 and the D820? Which is the better phone? Looking for a phone that supports EDGE, Doucument viewer, and has a Audio/Video output. I'm into designing, so it would be good if it could support Powerpoint aswell.

I currently own a D600, much happy with it i must say. This D870 has been realesed to correct the flaws of the Award Winning D600 and so it shud be perfect. I didn't see anything new on the specs except Edge & AutoFocus. I must Agree, radio would have been a big bonus....but nevertheless IT'S ALL GOOD!

my boyfriend is deciding to get this on his next upgrade for me... i like all the snazy features but i hope its software will last. the d600 battery is a bit poor but im sure i this 1 will b different...
by the way im a BIG SAMSUNG FAN.

its small,slick,good looking.nice smooth angles,the slider design really rock when it comes to looks.and its more then u really need. 3.2 mp with autofocus,come on guyz,the pictures will be super cool,desktop wallpaper quality.it has expandable mem,1 sd card has a max of 2 gb think,so its like the new ipod nano.im still not sure about the zoom,and the video quality.and its not enough to have mp3 support, w/o some nice mp3 organising soft.it should have the capablity to program mp3,in the order you want,to organise playlist,and a lot other.im damn sure this will be my next phone if i like the video quality..looking forward for a rewiew...best regards

1st of all... what's wrong with slide phones?
It's better than a stereotypical Nokia/Sony-Ericson brick phone~. With all the rest of
the people talking about Samsung phones...
YES~ it is true that Samsung tests the phones
in Korea first before they are launched
worldwide~.
So when it comes to reliability and quality I don't quite agree that Nokia and Motorolla
are necessarily better...
I'm Korean...and I have used a Nokia and a
Motorolla...but I gave it a kick [this was
late 90s...like 97~99] and ever since then
I used Samsung [T100~D410~D500] and they
have the best AS (After Service) whether it
be face-to-face or via phone.
The only problem I've ever had was with T100
when it was first released as colour screens while almost all phones were black/white
screen!
Technology-wise...I see Samsung surpassing
most if not all the brands soon enough!

Is it just me or are samsung getting a bit boring with the designs, all sliders! Think of something else guys!! But at last we have some phones that are equal to the sharp 903!

The only thing Samsung lacks is a big name to compete the hardcore NOKIA,SE and Moto fans,
they have really good quality,
medium design, but dif from the rest,
true a harder Menu and a lack of some basic features SE and Nokia have but the Coreeans are fast learners, esp this phone rocks,
it will be one of the very best in the market when its lounched...

actually samgsung uses other companies technologies. as someone said, for cellphones they use Qualcomm chips, and so does LG.
samsung being saying for years (since they took the tv/screens #1 position) they would all the tech all over, cameras, mp3, cellphones etcs. but really they don't show much progress lately. they are loosing market share while nokia and motorola are gaining. (probably because all their phones looks alike with really minor changes) and also that unpractical UI. its cameras being of average quality and mp3 players not with so many features as others manuf. and also they announce lots of phones and only release a few. they are just to input records. and forget about quality thats why i won't buy a samgsung in a long time til they show any progress, and take more attention to one phone instead of releasing lots. WORLDWIDE.

To what you said yes and no. First off, its bravia, not brivia. as some people may or may not know, sony arent doing as well financially as they used to. they prefer now to let other companies develop, then they take that technology.
they're not the only company, bang and olufsen use samsung for there phone (serene) and philips for hifi components.
my point is that samsung are a good company at designing and developing products and i think credit where credts due.

i think this is an extremely attractive phone and it's very cool. it has an excellent camera and the ringtones are original and fun. rather expensive but well worth the price. GET IT. :)
