you cant always trust the dealers tho. they get more commision for handsets that cost less. saves the company more money overall to upgrade customers to lower costing handsets. your better off researching yourself and if you decide this phone over the d600 then go for it. just remember your likely to be stuck with this for 11 months so dont just take one mans word for it. good luck mate.

I have been in to phone shops recentley and was told that people who already have the D500, which i do, would not be pleased with the D600. Is this model far more superior than the D600

i agree. lots of feature = rubbish fone. i dont think so. regardless of the phone and if you like it or not, that isnt a valid reason. if anything it can only be a reason to like the phone. sometimes wonder if people say these kind of things to get noticed. arnt you getting any attention at home?!

looks nice on paper. Why not an os? The camera looks good (3.2 mp), but it has to beat the SE phones (Cybershot ones)which I bet are cheaper... and better. Where is Nokia?

It's great how Samsung are pulling out all these handset which are great in features & looks although missing bits and pieces it still a great phone.
In my opinion I reckon samsung should start looking out the 3g market. It is slowly creeping up to a standard network (i reckon about 3-5 yrs). Samsung is doing a great job hope they would kill it in the 3g world aswell.

believe it or not, even if phones are of different form factors they rival each other and take sales from each other take K750i and D600, they are rivals. Also, 2.5G GSM products can rival 3G UMTS products like Nokia 6280 and Samsung d600, they are rival phones.

This phone is the absolute business!!! Small, light and full of great features. definately the phone I'll be upgrading too (depending on the reviews ofcourse).

Look like this's the best slider Samsung ever produced(14mm thin/less than 100gms/3.2mp camera/2.2inc screen/supports memorycard/etc....),I hardly wait to put my hand on one,using a D800 for 2 months,happy with it but D870 is even better,it fills up what D800 and the rest of Samsung's sliders(what it's missing is just a Radio...I don't need Radio on my mobile anyway.So folks,this's the best slider on the market at the moment,about the price,not to expect it's less than US$500(released price for D800 was US$400 few months ago).Well done Mr Samsung,keeping up the good works snd hope that you don't hold the release's date...We're hardly waitng./.

hey, jz wanted to ask. this phone, is it easy to type with? cos the key pad looks really weird n hard to type.

though slide fone is easier 2 open than clamshell but i still prefer z710 as it's applying auto focus n ccd senso 2 it's cam feature n it has radio. d870 is good, z710 is better. : )

Wow! this D870 is nice.. really nice... i bought D600 it is also nice because it has 2MP... but i like most D870 because it has 3.2MP.... i hope that D870 has a low price like D600.. so i can avail of this nice phone.... hope this summer it is available here in my beautiful country,the philippines..

I wonder how could you compare this with SE K800/K790, M80 or Z710. Its absard.
Lets take a look:
K800 has same features but thats 3G..so not in the same category.
K790 has same features but in candy-bar format.
Z710 has same features but its calmshell.
Im keeping N80 out of the equaltion coz its uncomparable with any of the phone anounced so far.
This is the thnnest Slider. If you want to compare, compare it with other sliders.
