Just bought a SGH-D880 - Unfortunately when I try to use the phone it keeps rebooting itself and comes up with the message "/a/Operator/idle_optus.ifg" every time and then reboots again. It doesn’t matter what sim card I use, none of them work. The sim cards work fine in other phones. Please tell me what this problem is and how I can fix it.

    Here a few keyboard–codes for Samsung SGH-D880 Duos:

    IMEI: *#06#

    Firmware-Version: *#1234#

    S/W-Version: *#1111#

    H/W-Version: *#2222#

    Software/Hardware-Info: *#0206*8376263#

    Test-Mode-Menü: *#0206*8378#



    Change volume of secondary (slave, SIM2)

    More volume:

    Start Test Mode Menü (secret code , see above):
    Choose menu no.2. HW test
    Choose Menü 2. Audio Setting
    Choose Menü 15. Audio AMP
    Change SLAVE_IOM2_NORMAL from 13 to 18 gesetzt (same as master SIM)
    Change SLAVE_IOM2_HEAD to 26.
    SAVE !

    With this setting incoming calls on slave (SIM2) are on same volume level as master (SIM1)

    Another advice: For those who usually do not need tri-band availablility, you can save energy by switching off the 1900MHz frequency for SIM 1 !

          Hi. Just bought the D880 and quite like it BUT can anybody tell me whether the T9 predictive text can be turned on permanently for messaging ? There used to be an Input Method setting on previous models but it seems to have disappeared and now I have to turn T9 on everytime I start a message. Not such a hassle more of a irritation. Thanks

              If I understood your prob right, then I dont think you need to hold Line 1 again after you accept call from Line 2 .. all you need to do is to switch between the 2 active calls using the " side botton" which is used to switch between sim1 and sim2. one click on that booton will switch your mic and speakeers to the other line .. where line one will still active but with no voice transfer.

                u need to use external memory slot. then go to settings ---> memory settings ---> defult memory and select memory card for messege downloads. hope this will solve first prob .. voice being weak on slave line, nothing can be done about it .. u gotta live with it.

                  can any body help solving this issue the phone sms memory only 200 sms if there any software to make it unlimited space?

                    For some reason while I have downloaded the mobile gmail app, I am unable to login. It just keeps saying that user and password do not check. Have eliminated the obvious and so have no clue what to do next?

                                  Engr Emeka, 23 May 2008The sound output volume is terribly low.How I wish that sam... moretho the output is low, its amazingly clear. no static or jumbled sounds. i just got the phone yesterday because i prefer samsung over myphone and needed a dual sim. i prefer the sleeker phone but with the dual sim, 1 phone with 2lines beats duct taping 2 slim phones together. still tinkering with it but it does what a phones supposed to do.

                                    For me, this is a good phone which is 100% suit for my requirement. cause I'm using my private sim & office sim.

                                    Only problem, I have is when I'm in a call of line 1, when the line 2 call is coming; I can hold the line 1 & answer the line 2. But after I answer line 2, I can't hold the line 2 & answer the line 1 again. If anybody know the answer, please send to the tharangalk@gmail.com.

                                        Thanks for the tip, bro. Too bad the phone limits yje size of files. Can't install the bible cuz its too big (1.5mb)
