WW, 14 Jan 2010How do you open the rear compartment to insert the battery/... moreI have finally managed to open back by putting thumb of left hand at bottom and pushing up to open. However, it just tells me there is no sim card, and I am getting frustrated that I cannot even activate this phone. MANUAL is useless and I would love to know how to get it into operation mode! Hate this phone.

Armando, 24 Jan 2010It's a great little basic phone, and it does what it should... moreyeah this phone is basic and you only charge it every 7 days but you have to carry laptop, camera, phone, mp3/4 player with you and keep them charged and by the way using the iphone as an example is not good my n900 is ten times better with music and movies than any stupid itunes bumming iphone. your better off having a phone that does everything i have to charge it everyday but so what.

It's a great little basic phone, and it does what it should be doing: you can make and receive calls and you can send and receive text messages (SMS). You don't need anything else, because that is where other modern technologies comes into play -you've got a PC/laptop to surf the internet and e-mailing, so you don't need this feature in a phone, you can have a 10 megapixel digital camera for well under £100, which for example I've got, and you can have a much better state of the art MP-3 / MP-4 player then anything on a phone unless it's the iphone again for not much money. Now if one of this devices break, you don't need to send a phone with all this devices on it to get repaired, and you still have the rest of then. You are also not stick to a long term contract, because you get this phone (my one was £10 and if you can not stand a pay-as-you-go SIM card, then simple get a pay only monthly SIM, which is better then a contract one getting you a lots more minutes / texts then standard contract with the facility of canceling with only 1 month notice (not waiting 18-24 months of contract to expire). The battery is also great with a standby of over 500 hours. I only need to charge this phone once every 7 - 10 days, or just under a week if I use it more regularly. It is a very good basic budget phone from Samsung, which is a great quality brand.
