I have both E1200 & Nokia 1280.(Both have torch light at top side)
Comparision
E1200/Nokia : Color/Black & White.
: 500msg/100msg.
: No Radio/Radio.
: 2000phonebook/500phone no. can be save.
: Both battery superb.

I've been using this phone for 3 months and the keypad is still almost good as new. I'm a heavy texter and I even this phone to the bathroom sometimes. LOL. So I don't think its keypad will easily wear out.

what about its keypad. Is this like the durability of keypad E1080. nokia 1200 or similar quick break and soften. because I saw a demo of this phone to a store in the country we seem to destroy the keypad and very soft

Just bOught this phone last week. Going great!
At idle long press the up navigation button and the torch turns on, long press it again it tuRns off. Cool!
Just sharing. LOL :D

I ne... moreI would go with Samsung E1200 because it has a color display, memo, several alarms, calculator, timer, stopwatch, torch light, and converter. Although the Nokia 1280 has radio and this has none. It's your choice.
