i just bought my samsung e840 yesterday and i fnd it so cool and really a head turner phone. so if ur planning to buy this model,damn u'l neva regret... thumbs up to samsung...

Samsung phones dont support themes.
[only some phones support it. not this one]
If you wanna go for multitasking phones
go for nokia n series or other phones. You
can play music while doing other things except going to image,video folder and using image editor.

The best phone in its price range~
I found out the way to install additional
software or games.
HOW TO INSTALL .JAR(OR JAVA) GAMES AND SOFTWARE IN E840
1) Type in the code *#9998*52824678255#
2) Your phone should return with 'Activated'
3) Now using Bluetooth or USB cable, connect to your phone
4) If you have a game as .jar, but don't have a .jad file, use JadMaker to create one.
5) Copy the .jar AND .jad file of the game into the folder called "Other Files" on your phone.
6) Now on your phone under 'My Files' browse to the 'Other Files' folder and left click with the touch pad or press ok
7) Left click the .jad files you created(normally its 1KB files).The phone will ask you if you want to Install the game. Say yes
8) After Install you will find the game under Games(in java world) on your phone.
9) You can now remove the .jar and .jad file again (they were only there to install the game onto your phone).

yes u can navigate the menu by pressing the power button pressing it once activates the touch keys.

anybody can tell me how to set mnually added tones as ringtones without moving it to phone memory from memmory card...
this is a great phone,if this feature also avaliable

Can somebody pleaseeeeee tell me if you can navigate in the menu or even make calls and talk without needing to flip up the phone???

wow..love at first sight...just got this fone..man it rocks...great looks..kool features..radio is an advantage ....awesome display...the default wallpaper rocks...speakers rock on..sound is superb....a must buy....if u r a stylish person...nething else u wanna just ask me...i wd love to tell u..priced(india) rs. 9700, nov '07!!

hi,i just bought d fone today.i wanted to ask e840 users whether touch pad is too sensitive or not.in my fone wen i touch area below DOWN key it activates CANCEL n derfore i cannot surf through menus wid DOWN key as most of the time i come out.also in my fone the area btw UP and LEFT navigation key on touching activates CANCEL and sometimes even pressing MENU key activates CANCEL.its very difficcult for me to surf as 99% of d time i come out of it.is dis wid all fones or jus my fone.pls tell me bcoz i would hav to go to service center if dis is a prob.

I have taken mobile one week before, mobile is pretty good but it is toooooooooo delicate.Those can handle soft its better for them. Its not sutable for roughfntuf.

Hi,
I got this phone a week before. Its pretty good. The design is nice and easy to handle. Some drawbacks are, it has no flash light, Games are not supported. Other features are very nice.
Mobile Tracker works fine. SMS Memory is amazing and phone book memory too good. Very Nice phone.
I have few doubts can anyone clarify it?
Game file .jar and .jad files are not accepted. How to install a new games in this phone? Is there any code to type? pls write to me in detail about it.

my dad bought me this phone from hk and so far it's been 2 days with no battery drop at all, unless the battery meter is broken which i doubt it. I haven't been extensively been using it except just testing its functions. so the battery department is good for me. just make sure you charge 8-10 hours first charge for every cell in the battery to charge up. good buy.
the only thing that i can't figure out is how to turn off ringtone in the middle of a call that i don't want to yet answer. anyone know?
