This was a hand me down from my mom, as it was her old phone. Mind you, I was probably 10 or 11 or something.
Hehe... oh boy.
It was a HECK of a lot nicer then my old iphone 3gs. Why? APP SUPPORT!!!!
Lets just say I avoid Samsung's mobile phones due to things like this and the two phone Budget Build's Official made videos about.
Loaded with bloat and mediocre hardware. It doesn't help mine from way back then started becoming unstable. (Also their appliances like to shuffle off their mortal coil, but thats a topic for another day).
Well, I got another one! It's not THAT bad! I was expecting worse! (And better, because the ebay merchant didn't supply a battery UGH).
But yeah, we have it spoiled now. What with all the ~$20 android smartphones running modern(ish) android and having pretty good specs tbh.

My 2 year old Samsung Ex can ring, alarm can sound but I cannot hear the other party. Speaker on but no sound either?
Was working fine until yesterday. Any idea what buttons to reset this problem

ejthemale, 23 Jun 2013This phone is close to perfect. It's not perfect because it... moreI had the same echo issue. Then I realized it would disappear if I would mute my end of the call. Based on that observation, it seemed mic was picking-up feedback from the speakerphone. After some experimentation, I found that the echo problem could be reproduced if the speakerphone (located on the back of the phone) was VERY close to an object, such as my hand or a desk. The echo would NOT occur if I provided the speakerphone had an ample amount unrestricted space. The SOLUTION - simply hold/place the phone facedown when talking on speakerphone.
