you can assign call ring tones but not mes... morevery interested to read your replys below,,its one thing that made me sell this in first place was 2gb limit,,however after being thru many,,many phones am getting this as my second fone..At moment using xperia but need something like this to take out..Love samsung for their quality an originality ie vivid messaging,,sonic wellness,,uGO etc but was always dissappointed here in uk that the z710 never made it here or the p90p910 types clamshellss,,in fact thats what ive moaned about in most forums of fones ive had ,Where are we getting some auto-focus smarfone clamshells as the only 2 ive seen are nokia n93/n93i..
The g600 is now under £100 in uk prepay with goood cam/video/battery/screen/mp3 player with good choice equalisers and a stopwatch wich i use a fair bit yet symbian and windows smarfones seem to never have one..

It's a large 62Mb download with loads of updates so give yourself plenty of time ( depending on your connection.

My samsun G600, when i open it does load screen and it gets to stage that write Orange, after it say inser sim, after 15 second it return to start again, and all wile doing that, cant go any farder than that. i bought it on contract last year it did dissepointed me. can some 1 help me pls to what to do.

you can assign call ring tones but not message tones, although some says otherwise, that you can assign message tones, but i think that was with the newer firmware installed.

you can never change the view setting of the gallery to thumbnails because only when using the phone memory will enable you to do so

the flash meu on the camera interface will go back to off setting every time you exit the application.
auto flash means the phone will determine how the subject is well lit or not, if so, it will not flash the led light, if not then it will.
however, you may find the photos taken on a well lit subjects to become dim when the setting is fill flash (keeping the flash on always wether or not the subject is well lit).
pressing the hash (#) key once to activate the flash to auto won't hurt you.
to keep the photos not to bright then deactivate the flash if it seemed that your subjects are that bright, that is why the phone has a setting on the flash to auto flash itself.

you can never change the camera viewfinder to portrait because it is meant to be controlled on the landscape side, for better usage of the dedicated camera button and to have that digital camera feeling while using it.

the phone does not offer viewing the photos stored in the memory card in landscape mode. for me, i recommend saving it all to phone memory, check the available memory from time to time and clear space as necessary, i transfer old and not so important photo files to the memory card to clear space, leaving behind the more important ones or worth viewing about. set the memory allocation of the camcorder to memory card since it eats a lot of space. well, that's only for me.
hint: default memory allocation for the camera and camcorder will be set to phone memory once and every time the memory card is removed from its slot.

i don't think so, i borrowed my cousin's 4gb memory card, inserted it, checked the available memory and it showed 0kb. well for sure that means the phone does not support HCSD cards. i hope the newer firmware does.

no, you can't, once message counter has reached its capacity, all you have to do is delete messages. this phone does not have a 1000-160-character-message capacity that u600 has, quite disappointing.

how can i make the picture in full screen when i save it in the memory card? i noticed that if i save it in the memory card, it will not be in full screen but if in the phone memory, it can view in full screen. I mean the picture

hello, i wanted to find out how i can make the camera vertical instead of horizontal. everytime i take a pic i have to tilt the phone to the left. any ideas?

Hi
Can a user of the samsung g600 please tell me:
1) how do u get the 'auto flash' stay on - i change it to auto but once i come out of camera and go back in it goes back to 'off'
2)what settings on the camera do you need to stop photos with the flash on to be too bright? surely a 5mega pixel camera should be ALOT BETTER than the quality im getting?

Hi, just bought this unit yesterday, could somebody please tell me how can i change the image/picture view to a 3x3 thumbnail format, i can only use the 3x3 thumbnail format if the image/picture is in the phone memory but not in the memory card, thanks
