Where are you guys buying the G600 from? It looks like it only sell in Europe

people who think this phone is rubbish needs there head testing WHY?, coz for starters it has . 5mp camera, decent video recording, an outstanding 16million tft screen, can play wma files, the only downsides for me r no 3G but thats not important as i dont go much on 3G anyway, n people who keep gabbling on about 4 msg tones r just annoying i only use vibrate for msgs as it saves battery power, done that on all my phones.

good functions...but looks...gimme a break...looks like a brick (at least compared with my u700)...too square...it's like a slide-up brick...in my opinion it's one of samsung's ugliest phones...shame

Got my G600 yesterday (UK). It's quite heavy compared to my last phone (U600) and I can only imagine they started designing the software for this BEFORE the U600 even though the U600 came out a while ago because the G600 can only store 200 SMS (U600 can store 1000) and there's only 4 message tones to choose from (U600 allows you to set your own MP3 as message tone).
The camera is fantastic. The U600's wasn't as good as the D900's, even though they're both the same resolution, because the camera module was smaller so they had to sacrafice quality for slimness. Although it was good, but not brilliant.
The G600 manages to record VGA (640 x 480) video in about 10fps I think it is, but I record in CIF at 30fps.
Battery life seems to be good so far, been using MP3 player and camera a lot and there's still 3 bars on screen. Size is similar to U600, but 4mm thicker and about 25 grams heavier.
I don't know why but if I cover the light sensor with my finger the screen goes dimmer, and if I put it next to a light bulb it goes brighter... Surely it should be the other way around??
It's a very powerful phone though, must have a good processor to record VGA video. Photos are taken and saved quicker than D900 and U600 too even though camera's 5MP. You can use the middle button to take a quick photo without focussing.
Also, the full screen photo mode is only available with photos taken and stored on the phone's memory (in photo folder). You won't be able to veiw full screen photos if you've set the camera to store directly to memory card. Downloaded pictures can't be viewed full screen.

It's Nokia, Samsung then SE because CIF is 352 x 288 whereas QVGA is 320 x 240. Samsung have been recording in CIF for years, SE are very slow and have only just started recording in QVGA!

all the qeustions about the volume maybe you try turn the sound up this way just ''call'' *#8999*83768# the u come in menu u can change it en set it louder ;)(sorry for my rubish english)

That on the front is not a camera. It is a light Censure, to save bat life! ie, When its light no keypad lights.

one of the best phones to succeed the huge success of the samsung d600 ~ so in a nut shell if you loved the d600 but hated the lg chocolate and samsung e900 touch screen, then you will fall in love with this awesome mobile :)

Samsungs got improve its functions on there mobiles to be more succesful in Europe i got the G600 the other day for my mate off ebay an it was unlocked,but the speaker very weak instead an with just 4 tones for messages loads of people will be making loads of miss calls an texts using the G600 an this will start annoying alot people with the G600 an i bet the price of the G600 will really go down really quick because of the stupid mistake by Samsung,they seem more bothered about succeding in there country instead of Europe,they make there phones look nice but you buy a mobile to use its functions on it but Samsung never seem to realise this

FYI, SE has the lowest resolution because (QVA is 320X240) while SAMSUNG is (CIF 352X288). I think you are used with SE with its never ending and usual QCIF(176X744). Sorry to disappoint you.

had the phone for a few days now- coupla questions tho...
anyone elso who has the phone- does the metal ring around the menu button feel like its about to come of? dont know if mine is dodgy handset or if it is meant to be like that.
also camera- i cant seem to take good indoor pictures. what sort of settings should i have?

It's the first Samsung to record video in 640 x 480, but how many fps does it record in? It's also the first Samsung to record CIF in 30fps (others recorded 320 x 240 in 30fps) and the first with a 16 million colour display. Most Sony Ericssons, even the latest ones, record a max of 176 x 144. I think the K850 records at 320 x 240 at 30fps, but Samsung has been doing this for years.

love the phone but not happy about the fact that u can not use your own text alerts!!! Im sure i read sumones opinion on here that said u can download software to enable you to do this. Is this true and if so where can i get the software from?????
