Samsung G800 brief review 1-
This is the first time I ventured our of the Nokia phones and I must say I am quite delighted to own a G800.
1. Menus are fast and responsive. Not sluggish like symbian powered phones. Not sure what custom OS G800 is running.
2. Voice clarity. Good volume controls. You can even take Memo notes while your friends tell you about "where-to-reach-for-the-party-tonight"
3. Messaging in legible and easy. T9 mode is a breeze. I must say I found it better than Nokia . Seems intuitive enough.
4. Call log is very useful. You can known exactly how many times your uncle called you in past 2 weeks.
5. Camera 5Mp is very responsive and decent results . However as with all mobile cameras, low light spoils the show. Video recording is remarkable. Its a full fledged digital camera. (more on that in later reviews)
6. Internet browser from Netfront is a ROCK. It just wont crash !. Surfed at Edge speeds with ease. The browser smartly reconstructs web pages to fit your mobile screen.

7. FM radio is very good reception.
8. Music player is decent. Good audio quality. Headphone however are not standard interface :(
9. Exclusive menu for GOOGLE search!
10. Bluetooth (more on this in later reviews.) is power packed. Almost all profiles supported.
11. Security - Mobile tracker. (more on this later), phone lock (cool), You can lock your files, messages, even call log!
Overall I am excited about this phone.
My rating is 8.5/10.

anybody seen this issue on G800 :
You get message from known contact in address book, say "john". check message, it detects sender is "john". No problem so far. Switch off and switch on your phone, and go to messaging application-->Inbox. Only "john"'s mobile no. is displayed and name is no more displayed.
also, No way of deleting "delivery receipts"?? automatically. You need to search of '0B' messages.

Worst phone ever.
WAY too fat and WAY too shiney. This is the perfect example of a brick. Way to go Samsung, lets step back 10 years and make a giant fat phone no one can fit in their pockets

hi all
i'm satisfied with my g800 and its properties except battery talk time. its awful and very short. what can i do? (my provider does not support 3g network so it is off!!) even i dont take pictures not to short talk time but ....! could anyone help me about that?

Kindly help, how do I change the GPRS button on bottom right of screen to somewhere. The 2 icons on the lower screen,Can I change to what I want. I did read that it can be done. I m in Asia. appreciate much your time . cheers

Advantage:
1. Louder Loudspeaker Volume
2. Good Battery Life, Standby and talk time
3. Good Design, Very Firm, Looks Professional
4. Good Features that they provide, (locking system and Phone tracer)
5. 5mp camera is Superb, at dark corners, blitz may not be recommended to be used, as the final photo would be darker.
6. Good responds.
Disadvantage:
1. Bulky.
2. Keypad 1, 2, 3 is difficult to press due to big finger tips. (different users may vary)
3. Usually Hangs (different users may vary due to phone providers)
4. With keypad tones activated, phone performance dropped.
5. During 3G conference, loudspeaker gave away, unless you are indoor.
I would give 8/10 ^^, Enjoy guys

sony ericsson japan and sony ericsson in europe are totally two different division and do not correlate. se japan is EXCLUSIVELY for japan only while se europe is what producing our phones so sorry to disappoint you I'm so sorry but i really pity you

Fantastic phone.you never can find the better one whith this price.be sure.but im in incertitude between G800 samsung and HTC s710 i know they are two difrent model but if any body can help me pls send an email.thanks a milion

samsung is a korean brand its CHEAP and ugly! compare to japanese technology its nothing! like SONY here in asia people dont use korean stuff they use japanese cars, TV, DVD, PHONES,etc

I have started using this phone on Tuesday. This is hell of good phone! 5 megapixel camera, what more can I ask for. I don't need a digital camera anymore, i have it with me.
Another thing is that it never gave me problems connecting to internet, I use it as a modem on my Pc to connect to internet.
I just wish they could also do Apple mac CD roms too, some of us are in love with Mac.
But generally I am happy with the phone so far!

the front cam will always be vga for any phone it is used for video calling. isay this phone is much better than n series.
