So, despite the endless negative comments about this phone i decided to buy one. Not because I want it, it's because I need temporary replacement for the end of the journey of my Galaxy A7 2018, because the screen suddenly dead caused by multiple minor and major abuse from me. Anyway, i can tell you that this A04e is not as bad as people say or as you might think about it. For its price it is by far has the most value for money compared to other brands. Before I buy this phone I tried few similar phone with more or less similar characteristics, but the most important one is cheap. I went to xiaomi, oppo, and vivo authorized dealer and tried to get first impression of Redmi A1, A17K and Y16. Redmi A1 is very good with its rather neat Android Go experience but it was so laggy for a bit of medium multitasking and and still using micro USB. A17K is better with better UI and a little bit smoother, it also has IPX4 rating but the charging port is still using a micro USB too. The Vivo Y16 is better than both, has everything on my list but then the price is a little bit higher than my already tight budget. And there it goes the samsung, before this I got not so satisfying experience with Samsung's low budget phone, especially the A03s i bought fot my dad, it is slow, somehow choppy UI despite having latest one UI than my old A7. But the time is short and I need immediate temporary replacement so without further consideration I buy A04e. First couple of day it was fine, exactly what I expected from samsung budget phone. But, after major update to android 13 it was much much better. The choppy experince I found before is gone, I only find smooth either from scrolling through social media app, browser, even the humongous amount of whatsppp group chat from work and others. I'm quite satisfied with my purchase and at least until now I have no plan for replacing this phone yet altho the budget is ready. It might be changed tho since i originally planning to buy A74 but that phone is not come out yet. But for now, this phone is doing its job perfectly with no flaw and no bug found since.
TLDR; the best budget phone and the most value for money.

Terrible camera, terrible screen color, not so responsive display but very responsive to accidental touch. At least it support fast charging with aftermarket charger and I can turn on/off my screen by double tapping it. A nice backup phone overall.

Bought this as a backup for my LG V20 and didn't expect anything for it's price. And indeed it doesn't have anything special to offer to me at first. Display have a flushed color, not so good response to touch, slow charging, and no earphone. But, I'm surprised that this phone have double tap to turn off/on screen at it's price. I thought it was something that come with my launcher at first until I tried it with OneUI and it works too. And it actually support fast charging when I charged it LG V20's charger.

Got this phone for 1,2mil IDR.
For this price range i have alot better option from chinese brand but im not regret buying this.
The charging is slow but for regular usage (not gaming) i only charge 1x in 2days.
there is no ads on this phone, and with a little knowledge i can get rid alot of unused app.
Yes it is slow phone but in Indonesia, its worth the price.

supertech, 26 Feb 2023It support 15W fast charging, but the charger in the box is 7.5WHard to believe, I know someone who's got A04 not e that has fast charge in menu, but my A04e does not have that.

It is the 3/32g variant
