Japan customers are lucky, they got a small pocket/hand friendly version of the A23 5G. Everyone else has to make do with a big and heavy hand-tiring device, with no compact budget options.

Sadly, Samsung only prioritizes the rich in America, whereas the budget customers get less options than those of other places.

I had the same question in my mind, I just got the A23 5G because I got it in a very nice deal (something like 150EUR). Yeah, is second hand device, but it was almost new (only 7 full cycles of battery used). And it was almost half the price of the A33.
But, if you have them at similar prices in your region, then I will suggest the A33. Is a better phone al around (better display, better cameras, IP rating).

You should either compare your A7 with an A73 for example, or compare the A23 5G with an A3 from that year. Now the comparison is more fair.
Do not compare based on prices, because prices have increased in these last few years.

I have a Samsung Galaxy A7 2018, and I'm using it for four years now. When I got a new subscription plan, provider gave me this new Samsung Galaxy A23 5g. But now after comparing it here with this old mobile dude of mine, I see that my older phone beats this new one. Better in selfie camera, better in processor, even slightly better in display... Well, I gues I'm still not gonna change it. It might still work for another few years.

Those "features" you are talking about are not that important probably. It gives you some extra things, but in no way it can make a Samsung phone useless.
Every Android phone can be perfectly used just with a Google account.

The built in speaker is hard to hear I must use earphones to listen to anything. Some built in features require to have a Samsung account to with a Google account. I cant use some of the features because I forgot my password to the Samsung account, making this phone usless...

Is anyone encountering this issue? The ois seems working perfectly in photo mode and I could take clear and good photos. However, when recording in video mode, the footage is shaky and jumpy. I tried walking gently when moving forward, but it still seems a bit shaky and the video quality is not ideal. Is this hardware or software issue?

The purpose of this phone was to give 5G and relatively good chipset at a lower price. When you buy a 200-250EUR phone, then you need to make compromises too (in camera, in display, in performance). Just like everything in life.
If you want minimum lag on phones, buy iPhones. Or minimum a Galaxy S21 FE, as an example from Samsung phones.
